1. Students who have reached the first level of Japanese, have a good oral listening ability, and are still studying the original major at the postgraduate stage →→→→→ can try to apply for a master's course (preparatory course) directly in China, and the application period is about 1 year.
According to experts studying in Japan, concern 1: Only the preparatory students who apply for the domestic master's program, that is, the listening students, are not official students of the school for the time being. Therefore, there is no tuition-free and scholarship system in the preparatory stage.
Note 2: The application period is relatively long, so please be sure to start applying at the beginning of the last semester of your senior year or junior college.
Years from going abroad to graduating from master's degree: 2 years. 2. For those students who are not going to change their major, but have reached the level of Level 2 or above in Japanese, but have no confidence in oral English and listening →→→→→ It is suggested to attend a Japanese school for one year first, and begin to apply for a formal master's course in Japanese universities during the Japanese school. The application period for language schools is about half a year.
Reason: Studying for a master's degree in Japan requires good Japanese grammar, astute listening and eloquence, otherwise it will not keep up with the learning progress of graduate schools, leading to a "vicious circle" of "I don't understand-I don't want to listen-I don't understand".
Note 1: After "establishing a foothold" in Japan through a language school, you have a great chance to become a formal graduate student after applying for a master's program.
Because tutors who apply for master's programs can "summon" students to interview or attend classes in Japan, they don't have to judge only by emails and students' materials received, like those who apply for listening abroad. You can get to know the students face to face, and you can provide them with the scope of the entrance examination.
Note 2: During your study in a language school, please try to improve your Japanese to the level of 1, and start looking for universities, majors and tutors while studying.
Note 3: Language schools generally provide continuing education guidance for international students. Please actively seek the help of teachers in your language school when you are looking for a university, major and tutor.
Length of time from going abroad to obtaining a master's degree: 3 years.
3. For undergraduates and junior college students who plan to change majors →→→→ It is suggested to go to a language school first. During my stay in language school, I should improve my Japanese to the second level or above, overcome the Japanese students' exams, and go all out to apply for the third-grade courses of undergraduate placement. After two years of undergraduate study, I began to contact professors in graduate schools to prepare for the postgraduate entrance examination. This road will take about half a year from application to going abroad.
Reason: Most of the courses in Japanese graduate schools are research-oriented. Without professional basic knowledge, it is not feasible in the process of actual study or direct application for master's courses. Although we can make up for the blank of the basic knowledge of changing majors by modifying the focus of research plan and graduation thesis or highlighting the elaboration of related courses learned during undergraduate/junior college, it can be said that the success rate of application is not high. It is convincing to transfer to the third year of Japanese undergraduate course, study the basic knowledge of related majors for two years, and then apply for the master's course of this major, and the chances of winning are relatively high.
Note 1: You still need to take the "Examination for Japanese Students" during the language school. For this exam, the language school has special teaching materials and special class arrangement counseling. The examination is twice a year, and the examination time is June and 1 1 respectively. Of course, there are also some universities that do not require students to have exam results. However, Japanese universities generally have requirements.
Note 2: Master's application can be arranged in the last semester of the senior year of Japanese university.
Length of time from going abroad to master's degree: 5 years.
