Question: Can the pacemaker battery be replaced?

Hello, pacemakers have a certain service life. Generally speaking, the guaranteed life of single-chamber pacemakers is longer than that of dual-chamber pacemakers, and the service life of patients who do not rely on pacing but only occasionally is significantly longer than that of patients who rely on pacemakers. This is all related to the pacemaker battery. It is more dangerous for patients who have implanted pacemakers to run out of batteries, so we generally recommend that patients adhere to pacemaker follow-up. Once the early signs of pacemaker battery exhaustion are found, such as obvious increase in impedance, the pacemaker should be replaced as soon as possible according to other parameters.

At present, only the battery of pacemaker can be replaced (according to the actual situation, most patients may not need to replace the pacing electrode), but the battery of pacemaker cannot be replaced separately (the battery and pacemaker are integrated). So I can only change your pacemaker, not just the battery. If you have any questions, please continue to leave a message or email me for consultation.

If you are a pacing dependent patient or a patient with high pacing rate, it is recommended to replace it as soon as possible. Even if pacing is rarely used at ordinary times, there are potential risks and it should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent accidents.
