The employment directions of English majors are: translation, teachers, foreign trade, teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and training institutions.

Judging from the current employment situation, the domestic market is in great demand, and the job of talent shortage is translation. Translation has a wide range of employment, and is engaged in translation work in enterprises, institutions and administrative departments such as culture, scientific research, schools and tourism. There are five main directions of translation: conference interpretation, court interpretation, business interpretation, contact person accompanying interpretation and document translation.

2. Teachers

In recent years, the occupation of teachers is relatively saturated. Generally speaking, the qualification of high school teachers requires a bachelor's degree, and the level of Putonghua is above Grade B. Moreover, open recruitment of teachers requires teacher qualification certificate, CET-4 and CET-6, or CET-4 and CET-8. To be an English teacher in universities and primary and secondary schools, you can choose to be an English teacher in the primary and secondary schools in your own city, or you can stay as a teacher in universities.

3. Foreign trade

With the deepening of economic globalization and market internationalization, the employment prospect of business English is not optimistic. This makes all fields inseparable from English talents, especially compound talents who know business, marketing, economic management and are proficient in English.

4. Teaching foreigners Chinese

Be an international Chinese teacher. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Labor and Personnel, the employment rate of English major graduates has been in the top 10 in all majors. Even though the employment of college students is generally depressed in recent years, the employment rate of English majors in most colleges and universities remains above 90%, and the employment prospects are optimistic.

5. Training institutions

Being an English teacher in an international school or training institution: In recent years, with the development of private education, the demand for English teachers in international kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in first-tier cities has gradually increased.
