How to treat the fate of the two protagonists in Brothers?
First of all, I don't think "Brothers" is a successful novel. It is probably hovering above and below the passing line. For a writer in Yu Hua's position, it is very disgraceful to write such a novel. Secondly, we can analyze the collision between Socrates spirit and Dionysian spirit out of context. But in the novel Brothers, the characterization is obviously not in place. Yu Hua, the author, only found two kinds of people like the protagonist in the book, and put them in the same novel Brothers for comparative description, which is an innovation. However, Yu Hua has obviously left the creative soil that a writer should have in his later period and can only hide behind closed doors in a glass greenhouse. For roles like Li Guangtou and Song Gang, although he felt their existence, he was unable to describe them well. This situation is not surprising. Since entering the information age, it has been much more convenient for writers to obtain information, but this has not eased the difficulty of writers' writing, because although the difficulty of obtaining character prototypes has decreased a lot, the difficulty of how to deal with and express these character prototypes has also increased a lot, and the two cancel each other out, which has caused the difficulty of writers' writing not to decrease, but to increase. As far as Yu Hua is concerned, he has his own problems. His problem is that he doesn't realize that his writing skills are old and rigid. He has never been an industrious and persistent writer, but an inspirational writer. Unlike many great writers, he sits at his desk and writes hundreds of words every day. He only writes tens of thousands of words at a time when he is inspired. This way of writing is no problem for young writers, but there are many problems for middle-aged and old writers-how to make their already dull knives and pens swing into a new world? Many old writers are full of literary thoughts and write with swords, but what they write is rubbish. This is the problem. Their pens are boring, but they firmly believe that they are the main body of their works. In addition, Li Guangtou and Song Gang, two characters, have spanned decades and experienced various changes for decades. It is not easy to describe them. Yu Hua's experience and knowledge are obviously not enough to support such a job. Therefore, in the case of necessity, he turned to a familiar writing technique: cartoon description. This technique has been tried and tested in Yu Hua's previous works, so he thinks there should be no mistakes in this new work. It's a pity that my brother is the last person to use this technique. Brother Yi has a huge capacity and can't lose any literary masterpiece in the world. Its texture and capacity need more serious and weighty writing techniques, and the comic book technique can also adapt to small-cut, small-capacity themes, but for large-cut, large-capacity themes, it will be ridiculous and rough. Second, the characters in Brothers are closely intertwined. How to deal with this relationship is not Yu Hua's strong point, and the comic-book approach is useless here. The most fundamental reason is that Yu Hua is impetuous and eager for success. After having a general outline and setting of the relationship between these characters, he began to write. As a result, the relationship between the characters in the novel is more distorted as it goes to the back. It's like a casually built foundation, and the buildings built on it must be twisted and weird. This is not that kind of ingenious twisted beauty, but a precarious failure. Finally, I think that although literary works are an art form and can be interpreted in many ways, these interpretations must be based on some solid foundation, which is simply the artistry of a work. In my opinion, the novel Brothers is weak in artistry. Then, you have to explore the collision between Socrates and Nietzsche's Dionysian spirit from this artistic work, which is obviously to seek fish from the wood.
