It is reported that Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou, which are rich in hydropower resources and phosphate rock resources, are the main producing areas of yellow phosphorus in China, among which Yunnan's yellow phosphorus production capacity accounts for nearly 50% of the total production capacity, ranking first in the country. In 20021year, the national effective yellow phosphorus production capacity was 1434500 tons, and the production capacity of Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou accounted for 46%, 23% and 19% respectively.
According to industry stakeholders, autumn and winter are the traditional dry season, and the hydropower generation is declining and the cost is high. The supply of yellow phosphorus in Guizhou and Sichuan may also be tightened. In the long run, the upstream of yellow phosphorus is phosphate rock. In recent years, the policy gradually tightened the control of phosphate rock, and the overall output of phosphate rock showed a downward trend. Restricted by upstream raw materials, the new capacity of yellow phosphorus in the future is limited.
The paper understands that the production of 1 ton of yellow phosphorus needs more than 10 ton of phosphate rock, and the production process needs high temperature, which is a high energy-consuming chemical.
Affected by the dual control of energy consumption, the effective capacity and output of yellow phosphorus in China have shown an obvious downward trend in recent years. From 20 17 to 202 1, the effective capacity of yellow phosphorus in China decreased from 1556 thousand tons to 139555 thousand tons, with a decrease of more than 10%, and the output was 865438.
From the demand side, glyphosate, the world's largest herbicide, is one of the main downstream of yellow phosphorus, accounting for nearly 30% of consumption. In the short term, the demand for yellow phosphorus is expanding in the downstream peak season of "Golden September and Silver 10". In the long run, the rise in global agricultural prices has promoted the demand for agricultural products such as glyphosate. China is a big producer of glyphosate, and the demand for yellow phosphorus continues to increase due to the growth of downstream glyphosate demand.
As the basic raw material of glyphosate, yellow phosphorus accounts for 20% of the production cost of glyphosate.
