The past of Xu Mingdong's characters.

Life is wonderful because of "TV"

In this complex society, facing the real life, each of us is a director, directing our own artistic life every day.

Where the years have passed, each of us should enjoy the endless fun brought by nature and feel the fullness and happiness of getting along with others. Because we have a career, a life, friendship and cherish everything we get. Therefore, years are also "recording" everyone's story in different ways.

Xu Mingdong, a China TV documentary director who grew up in the army. This is a career that he never dreamed of in his childhood, but today it has become a reality. Xu Mingdong, a veteran reporter and director of CCTV documentary, told a reporter about his "TV" life for nearly 30 years, which was very emotional and affectionate. Life became attached to "TV" because of joining the army.

In 1960s, Xu Mingdong was born in Dafeng County, a coastal city in Yancheng, Jiangsu. He was deeply impressed by his poor childhood and harsh environment. Without lights, telephones, buildings and cars, three meals a day are terrible. Fish and food are almost a luxury. Watches, flashlights and radios were all luxuries at that time. He spent most of his childhood in productive labor. Studying in the classroom is a wonderful thing, but Xu Mingdong didn't fully enjoy it. The influence of the "Cultural Revolution" made him enter high school intermittently. At this time, because I love labor at ordinary times, I have developed a strong body and changed my future.

1In the autumn of 983, a westbound train, carrying the beautiful dreams and longings of many passionate young people, ran from the coast of the Yellow Sea to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Because of the tense Sino-Vietnamese war, it should have been a two-day journey, but it took three days and three nights. Xu Mingdong is one of them. It is a glorious, confused and complicated mood that keeps the young man restless for a long time.

The transfer car struggled in the bumps, leaving long ruts and fog, as if it were also "recording" everyone's future life. When people see yellow-white sand dunes, gray-black Gobi and silver snow-capped mountains ... all this tells them that the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a sacred and mysterious place under their feet.

I always thought that life in the barracks was romantic and colorful. When you enter the life of plateau soldiers, veterans will tell you in one sentence: "White soldiers watch soldiers and watch stars at night." 8 yuan a month "salary" is still inexhaustible. Here, hundreds of miles away in Fiona Fang, there are no cities or shopping centers. The weather here is bad, the roads are rugged and sparsely populated. The oxygen here is thin, which makes people asthma, chest tightness and headache.

As time goes on, the novelty and curiosity gradually fade away. At this moment, you will feel how small and helpless people are. Only survival is the form to verify life. Facing the ideal and reality, facing the harsh natural environment, facing the monotonous life in the plateau military camp. Xu Mingdong, a young plateau warrior, also showed an irresistible impulse.

Here, 18-year-old Xu Mingdong is undergoing a severe test, facing the harsh natural environment, monotonous military camp life, ideals and reality. He made a new understanding and reflection on the value and significance of his life.

Difficulties and setbacks can always inspire a person's courage to make progress. So, he made up his mind to change his ideals, his living habits, his amateur life and other people's different views on him. He used all his time to collect all the old newspapers and magazines of the army for many years and filled a whole room. Almost all the time after work, I am studying hard, studying hard and thinking deeply. At the same time, these are quietly changing his life.

A year later, Xu Mingdong gradually wrote about the big and small things that happened in the army, his thoughts on society and his feelings about life, and told others through different media. News, communication, prose, essays and reportage are published in national newspapers, magazines, radio and television, and some articles have won awards in the whole army and the whole country.

In order to pursue his career, Xu Mingdong shed sweat and tears in the inaccessible Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and suffered many grievances and unfair things. Facing the snowstorm on the plateau, he worked year after year. As a soldier, he could only endure it silently. I haven't been home to visit my relatives for five years in a row. At that time, I had ideas, no achievements, and I was ashamed to see my elders in Jiangdong.

Opportunities often belong to those who wait hard and keep pursuing. Since then, Xu Mingdong's life has taken a major turn for the better. He entered Xining, the provincial capital, and from the grass-roots units to the military organs, he also had the opportunity to enter the PLA Military Academy for further study. Because of hard work, life continues to develop.

"In fact, the beginning process is very painful and unforgettable." Perhaps it was opportunity and fate that made Xu Mingdong. During this period, a JVC home camera in the army caught Xu Mingdong's attention, and Zhang Guomin, the director at that time, also saw his intention. One day, Director Zhang said, "Can you combine the advantages of writing a manuscript with TV publicity to publicize whether our grassroots is more vivid?" Xu Mingdong replied, "You can try."

Since then, Xu Mingdong has started a career in television for decades. His work was appreciated by Mr. Xia, then director of Xining Radio and Television Bureau and director of Xining TV Station. The career of TV reporter, especially becoming a CCTV military reporter, may be something he never dreamed of when he was young, but now it has become a reality. This situation also made him realize the changes brought by scientific and technological innovation and development to China society and China army.

Over the past 30 years, Xu Mingdong has used dozens of cameras, from non-professional to professional, from single tube to CCD, from VO to BVU, from 4800 to 6800 models, from split to integrated video recording, from standard definition to high definition, and so on.

In the late 1980s, the Xu Mingdong film crew entered Tibet. Because of the bumpy road and long distance, the jeep door they were riding fell off and had to be dragged by hand, all the way from Xining to Lhasa on the Gobi desert in the plateau. The camera equipment for the interview was easily damaged in the bump of the vehicle, so Xu Mingdong wrapped it in clothes and held it in her arms. Due to the harsh environment and long distance, Xu Mingdong and his colleagues were injured in a car accident, but the equipment was intact, which ensured the smooth completion of the interview task at that time.

As a reporter of CCTV in Lanzhou Military Region, Xu Mingdong has successively completed Qinghai 1986 "Three Rivers Source", "No Man's Land in Hoh Xil", 1988 "Plateau Medical Team", 1989 "Feelings of Plateau Soldiers" and 198.

Xu Mingdong said: "There are too many stories about working on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The natural beauty, regional customs, national culture and border soldiers there are all worth looking for by documentary directors. "

If we say that the love with the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau makes Xu Mingdong unforgettable; Then, the hard work after coming to Beijing made it even harder for him to give up.

The pursuit of career, diligence and study make Xu Mingdong develop continuously. One night in winter, he met a little thing on his way home to visit his teacher, which he will never forget.

Because there are so many things to ask the teacher, it was already late at night when I left, and there was no bus on the road. At that time, the Third Ring Road in Beijing had not been built, and it was freezing. It took 10 yuan to take a taxi home. He felt that he only had 5 yuan money in his pocket, which was just enough for the starting price of a taxi. This made him very embarrassed. How does he get home? If it takes at least a few hours to walk back, he took a taxi with the only 5 yuan money he had. Unexpectedly, the driver only took 5 yuan's money and left him alone in the cold night. Looking at the few pedestrians and the lights in the distance, Xu Mingdong could only walk the rest of the journey in the cold wind, and it was early morning when he got home.

The experience of coming to Beijing for the first time made Xu Mingdong unforgettable and made him work harder and cherish it more. In the initial stage, I had the honor to participate in the editing and directing work of People's Soldiers and Military Circles of CCTV, and also participated in the influential large-scale series such as Looking at the Great Wall and Sun Tzu's Art of War in the history of documentary development in China, and completed the large-scale documentaries such as Century Alarm and Cross-century National Defense Report co-authored by the current deputy director of CCTV, as well as the directing work of CCTV evening.

Working for nearly 30 years, I have filmed a large number of documentaries, covering China's national defense, Olympic Games, ethnic minorities, folk art, local customs, cultural essence, traditional festivals, cultural heritage, people's stories and so on. And made many outstanding achievements. He has won more than 30 awards in international and domestic TV programs. Among them, the National Government won five awards. Xu Mingdong was awarded the third class merit four times and the second class merit 1 six times for his outstanding achievements in journalism, and was received by the national leaders.

In his later work, Xu Mingdong was engaged in the establishment and planning of TV programs and the revision of international channels, military channels and digital TV channels. Engaged in the creation of TV art films, music TV films, advertising videos and theme songs of TV dramas; Cooperate with international media on behalf of CCTV and the State Council Press Office, and act as the chief producer and director of Ren Zhongfang; There are gains in different fields. In fact, what makes Xu Mingdong unforgettable or inseparable is "TV", which is both fresh and attractive. Life is more exciting because of unremitting pursuit.

Xu Mingdong said: "Because there is pursuit, life is meaningful; Because there is pursuit, life has passion; Because there is pursuit, life has motivation; Because of the pursuit, work has confidence. "

Xu Mingdong said modestly that after years of hard work, the TV documentary was just a TV program. Although it won the international award and the national government award, it is not a work at all. He believes that a good TV work needs "the right time, the right place and the right people", and more importantly, it can stand the test of history and needs to put its own emotions into it.

Over the years, Xu Mingdong has repeatedly given up the opportunity to arrange or choose other professional jobs. He believes that TV documentary pursues a person's conscience, a social responsibility and a real history. Years of work, this conscience and responsibility in Xu Mingdong's work has been fully confirmed.

From 65438 to 0983, Xu Mingdong was almost always busy with all the major news events in China. Qinghai Tanggemu earthquake with magnitude 7.9, local stability in northwest China, Los Angeles World Chinese New Year Gala, Hong Kong's return, flood fighting and emergency rescue, Macao's return and commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of New China, China-Shanghai APEC and commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Shenzhou VI manned space flight, commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and People's Republic of China (PRC) Civil Service Law. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army in China, the Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake in Sichuan, the Beijing Olympic Games and the manned space flight of Shenzhou VII, the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Party of China, he took a lot of precious materials on the spot.

Xu Mingdong never cared about personal compensation. From emergencies to "Project Hope", from major events to frontier islands, he sometimes even used his own salary to bear the travel expenses, and also donated to "Project Hope" many times.

Xu Mingdong said that it is too difficult to make a TV documentary. From consulting materials to topic planning, from project initiation to approval, from funding to coordination, from director to screenwriter, from dubbing to music, from pre-shooting to post-production, from auditing to broadcasting, and so on, there is a lot of work to be done. Every work is very important and every link cannot be sloppy. This complicated process is both a test and an accumulation for producers and directors.

In fact, behind the completion of every large-scale documentary project, there are a lot of sour, sweet, bitter and spicy, which should be integrated into the director's own emotions and have the shadow of the director. If all this is made into a documentary story, it will be equally wonderful.

Xu Mingdong also poured wisdom and sweat into his works. Although, the chosen profession is very bitter and tired; Although, this profession has no money and no status; This requires wisdom, physical strength and perseverance, dedication and passion, contacts and environment, and so on. However, for his own pursuit, Xu Mingdong gave up many opportunities to change careers and many time to reunite with his family, in pursuit of a mood, emotion and conscience.

After learning about Xu Mingdong's experience, the reporter had to admire his seriousness, persistence, dedication and dedication. I have to admire his pursuit of career and description of life. Because of his obsession with "TV", his future was affected; Because of his obsession with TV, his life is in danger; Because of his obsession with "TV", he endured grievances; Because of his obsession with TV, he has no regrets so far.

The past is like smoke, it takes a little time to piece together the past, and I have no interest in my heart. In fact, the work and getting along between people is a kind of understanding and understanding, and it is also a kind of tolerance and forbearance. Every successful person has an extraordinary experience. Every success requires diligence and wisdom. The passage of time and the changes of years leave behind wealth. If you don't look back, how can there be today? Therefore, everything that Xu Mingdong has done needs too much understanding and support, and there is no selfishness or extravagance. Just for China's "TV" screen content, it is more real and exciting.
