In life, people always say that "sons are like mothers and daughters like fathers", but this seems to be the case of Ma Jing's family. Ma Jing herself looks more like her father. The two brothers are more like their mother.
In other words, boys will be more like their mothers, while girls will be more like their fathers. Is this statement necessarily correct? Which parent's genes determine a child's appearance? Do you know the mystery of genetic inheritance?
Why "sons are like mothers and daughters like fathers"?
1, the child's appearance is determined by the genes of both parents.
There are 23 pairs of chromosomes in human body, of which 22 pairs are autosomes and the rest 1 pairs are sex chromosomes. Therefore, the appearance of a child is not determined by only one party.
Appearance includes many things, such as figure, height, skin color, face shape, eyes, nose and so on. Different facial features and appearance are determined by different genes, that is, the shape characteristics of a single nose are determined by 3-4 pairs of genes.
So we can't simply say who we are like, both of them, and often some children are like both.
2. Both parents have different sex chromosome categories.
From a biological point of view, the female chromosome cell is XX, and the male chromosome cell is XY. When sperm and eggs are fertilized, they will combine the genes in their own chromosomes to form new chromosome genes.
The woman brings X to the child and the man brings X to the girl, so the sex chromosome of the girl is XX and the sex chromosome of the boy is XY.
3.x chromosome contains more genes than Y chromosome.
Moreover, we can see that girls are indeed more like their fathers. The X gene carries more genetic information than the Y gene, while the X gene on the father's side carries more carriers than the X gene on the mother's side. Therefore, if a daughter gets more genetic information from her father, she will be more like her father and less like her mother.
The boy's gene is XY, in which the X gene comes from his mother and carries more genes than his father's Y gene. This is why people generally think that "sons are like mothers and daughters are like fathers".
All sons are not necessarily like mothers, and all daughters are not necessarily like fathers.
There are also many cases in life where sons look like their fathers and daughters look like their mothers. How do we explain this? In fact, the inheritance of genes can be divided into dominant and recessive.
1, dominant inheritance
Dominant inheritance means that if there are dominant genes in the genes given to children by parents, then the dominant traits of a child will be shown. For example, parents are people with double eyelids and big eyes, so the children born will basically have double eyelids and big eyes.
2. Recessive inheritance
Recessive inheritance refers to the genetic characteristics that the genes that determine the performance traits must exist in pairs, otherwise the traits affected by a single gene will only be hidden, such as small eyes and straight hair.
Recessive inheritance is common in some infectious diseases. Comparatively speaking, albinism and high myopia belong to recessive inheritance.
3. Is it like "mom" or "dad"?
If the mother's genes are dominant and the father's genes are recessive, then the baby born looks like the mother, otherwise, the baby looks like the father.
For example, in a family, if the mother has double eyelids, the father has single eyelids, and the mother's double eyelid gene is dominant, then most of the babies born have double eyelids, so the children will be more like the mother than the father.
It can be seen that the statement that "sons are like mothers and daughters like fathers" is not absolute, but is determined by many genetic factors, and the appearance of children is also influenced by various factors in the external environment.
