English major (junior college)
The College of Humanities has a strong faculty of English majors, including professors 1 person, associate professors1person and five lecturers. At present, 93.8% of teachers have master's degrees, and the age, professional title and academic structure of teachers are basically reasonable.
Training objectives: based in Longjiang, facing the whole country, cultivate a solid English language foundation to meet the needs of regional economic and social development, master the basic knowledge of language culture and social sciences, receive the basic skills training of systematic science in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, have the ability of oral and written English expression, conduct cross-cultural exchanges with people at home and abroad, and acquire knowledge by using computer and network technology. High-quality applied talents with solid basic theory, applicable professional knowledge, practical ability, financial and business literacy, innovative spirit and entrepreneurial ability, and all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty.
Main theoretical courses: comprehensive English, advanced English, English extensive reading, English translation, English writing, introduction to linguistics, general situation of Britain and the United States, a brief history of British and American literature, cross-cultural communication, business English, Japanese as a second language, foreign trade English correspondence and telecommunications, international trade and practice, computer foundation and other courses. Participate in practical training before graduation, complete graduation thesis and other teaching links.

1. Highlight practical teaching and strengthen oral practice teaching. The fully digital virtual situational language laboratory for English majors is the first demonstration site in colleges and universities in Heilongjiang Province, which mainly meets the multi-functions of foreign language teaching situations and micro-lesson recording. The construction of laboratory is based on students' situational experiential teaching method. Teachers and students use laboratory software to simulate real life scenes or unknown world scenes for role-playing, immersive, three-dimensional intuitive experience, and finally through 3D special effects display. In more than 130 virtual scenes provided by the software, students can experience textbook knowledge and various social workplace situations in a three-dimensional way, solve the boring problem of simple book learning, improve the interest of teaching, enhance students' intuitive experience, and thus deepen their understanding and memory of learning knowledge. At the same time, it can also train students' teamwork ability and organizational communication ability. At present, our laboratory can also be used for oral English teaching, business English, oral practice of tour guides and English translation, which provides a teaching environment and platform for our flip classroom and forms an online and offline teaching mode combining reality with reality.

In the course study focusing on the basic skills of English language listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, the subject study and skill training are integrated into one, and the mode of "major+major-oriented course" is implemented. Majors mainly refer to basic courses, specialized courses and elective courses for English majors. Specialized courses mainly focus on foreign trade English and pedagogy. This teaching mode increases the accumulation of students' professional knowledge and skills, and permeates the basic skills of English majors, teachers' professional skills and foreign trade English skills into the whole process of education and teaching. This major has delivered a large number of applied English professionals with strong comprehensive quality to well-known educational institutions such as Tiantong American English, Jiayin English, mygym Education and Music Education.
3. English majors should offer courses on entrepreneurial employability and comprehensive vocational ability corresponding to job requirements, integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the talent training system, offer oral practice of tour guides, professional qualification and skills practice of CATTI, workplace English of BEC and comprehensive vocational training, and pay attention to the combination of practice and major.
4. English majors should implement the education and teaching system of "paying equal attention to theory and practice, supplemented by competition activities". The second classroom activities for English majors are rich and colorful. Encourage students to participate in FLTRP Cup English speech, reading and writing competitions and college English competitions. English teachers have guided students to win the first prize in Heilongjiang Division of the FLTRP Cup National English Speech Competition for many times. The second prize and the third prize of "FLTRP Cup" National English Reading and Writing Competition in Heilongjiang Division; Excellent results in the third prize of college English competition. Some students passed the BEC Primary Business English Test of Cambridge University, some students passed the BEC Intermediate Test, and some students passed the national tour guide qualification test.
5. Adhere to the construction of off-campus practice bases. In-school practice mainly combines practical links with practical training and entrepreneurship and employment courses to improve students' practical ability. Practice outside school to cultivate students' practical ability, social communication ability, innovation ability and cooperation ability. We let students practice in the practice base. English majors have established five off-campus English practice bases: Tiantong American English Training School, Yingqiao Education, EF and mygym Education, Music Hoe Education and Sunshine Foreign Language. Efforts to introduce these enterprises into schools, the integration of production and education, collaborative education and school-enterprise cooperation can not only meet the needs.
Employment orientation: After graduation, I will be engaged in teaching, management, secretarial work, translation and tour guide in small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions such as education, economy, trade and tourism.
