The psychological counselor exam does not support individual direct registration. They should register at the authorized institution, then the authorized institution will register on their behalf, and finally take the exam.
China Academy of Sciences Psychological Counselor Registration Process:
Register with authorized institutions → course study → practice after class → take the exam → pass the exam → obtain the certificate of psychological counselor.
Candidates should submit personal performance materials (books, papers, patents, research certificates) and recommendation letters issued by the unit three months in advance.
Professional ethics of psychological counselors
1. Psychological counselors shall not discriminate against visitors because of their gender, age, occupation, nationality, nationality, beliefs and values.
2. Before establishing the consultation relationship, the psychological counselor must let the visitors know the nature and characteristics of psychological work, the possible limitations of this work, and the rights and obligations of the visitors themselves.
3. When dealing with clients, counselors should discuss the key points of their work with clients and reach a consensus proposal, and even reach a written agreement when necessary.
4. A psychological counselor shall not establish any relationship with the client except consultation, avoid double relationship as far as possible, and shall not use the client's trust in the counselor for personal gain, especially shall not have indecent words and deeds to the opposite sex.
5. When the psychological counselor thinks that he is not suitable for consulting the helper, he should explain clearly to the helper in a responsible attitude and introduce him to another suitable psychological counselor or doctor.
6. Psychological counselors should always strictly abide by the principle of confidentiality.
