Why did Jiaqing teacher Wang Jie become a tutor after retirement?
City Observer: A Blog in the Downtown Core Tip: Wang Jie, the prime minister of the top scholar in the Qing Dynasty and the teacher of Emperor Jiaqing, has been an official for more than 40 years and is honest and outspoken. When he retired, he was still innocent. When he returns to his hometown, he wants to make some contributions to his hometown. No one in the local area dared to invite him. Finally, he went to a neighboring county to be a tutor. During the Jiaqing period, there was an old man in his seventies in the countryside of Hancheng, Shaanxi, who wanted to be a tutor. The old man is very strict. He once taught a child to kneel, which made his father very unhappy. No one in this county dared to invite him, so he had to change his name and go to the neighboring county to sit in the squire's house. The old man was very serious and diligent, and within a few months, both the host and the guests were very happy. The local county magistrate went to the countryside, and the squire gave a banquet to entertain his parents and invited the elderly to accompany him. As usual, first of all, we really have to make way and let it pass. We both know who should be where. Please, sir, please, sir, please. Probably because the old man was old and accidentally left his ass on the chair. The squire was embarrassed and the old father was unhappy. I thought I was just giving you an illusion. You took me too seriously as a cadre. Once you sit down, it's not like that when you get up again-eat. Magistrate is a scholar. After three rounds of wine, he pointed to a picture of peony and plum blossom hanging on the wall and said, let's use this as a couplet. Say the first sentence: "A plum flower grows under the peony flower." The squire praised it and then shouted, "Rich and shabby." The implication is obvious. The old man thought for a moment, and then sang, "Mo Dao Mei's flowers are not rich. Plum blossoms used to be the best." The magistrate of a county and the squire thought the old man said it well, so they asked sarcastically, How many times has your husband been on the table in his life? The old man seemed to feel ashamed, thought about it, but said modestly, twice … oh, three times, hehe, three times. Which three times? The old man said, "The first wedding reception." Both of them laughed and thought it was silly, because the groom is the most important person when getting married, so it is natural to sit on the table. "The second time was a banquet in Qionglin." They were stunned. This was a banquet hosted by the imperial court after the entrance examination for Jinshi, and the champion could take the lead. "The third time is a hero banquet." This is a banquet given by the emperor when the border generals who made meritorious deeds in the Qing Dynasty returned to the DPRK. Usually, the Minister of Military Affairs attended on behalf of the emperor-the old man knew that his mentor could do nothing more, so he just showed his card, and his old name was Wang Jie. This statement came out. Don't say sit down, they can't even stand. If it weren't for this accident, he would have been a tutor until his death. Wang Jie (1725- 1805), a great man from Hancheng, Shaanxi. Wang Jie lost his father at the age of eight, and his family was poor. Smart and studious since childhood, when he was young, he worked as an aide to Chen Hongmou, the governor of Jiangsu Province, and was highly valued by Chen. Finally, I took the first place in Shaanxi Examination (Xie Yuan) to go to Beijing to try the college entrance examination, and submitted the Examination of Emperor Qianlong Entering the Palace with the third place in flower exploration. At that time, it happened that Qianlong wanted to select talents in the north. Seeing that Wang Jie's handwriting was neat and delicate, he ranked first and became the first scholar in the founding of the Qing Dynasty. After winning the top prize, Wang Jie was on duty in the South Study at first, and then he was promoted several times, reaching the rank of bachelor of cabinet. In the thirty-ninth year of Qianlong (1774), he served as assistant minister of punishments, then transferred to the history department and promoted to the right capital suggestion. In fifty-one years (1786), Qianlong served as minister of military aircraft and director of the study, and in the second year, he served as a university student in Dongge. When Wang Jie was the master of the study, the prince (later Emperor Jiaqing) often didn't recite books. He taught him strictly to kneel and stand. One day, when Qianlong visited the study, it happened that the prince was sent to kneel. He immediately told his son to stand up and said angrily to Wang Jie, "Teaching is also the son of heaven, and if you don't teach, you are also the son of heaven. Is this my proper attitude towards you? " Wang Jie said loudly, "Those who are taught are Yao and Shun, while those who are not taught are stubborn. That is the role of the master! " When the emperor heard this, he was surprised and immediately told the prince to continue to kneel down and comfort and encourage Wang Jie. Besides, Wang Jie is very strict with her children. It is said that Wang Jie's son writes well and often writes for him. When Emperor Qianlong knew about this, he once asked, saying only that his son was incompetent. His son wants to take the imperial examination. Inform the examiner in advance every time not to let him in. His son went back to Shaanxi to take the provincial examination, and he informed the governor of Shaanxi (his disciple) that he would not be admitted. It seems a bit harsh and unreasonable. Because, Wang Jie is very cautious, he knew that his son, too generous, and insatiable, into the officialdom, I'm afraid there will be endless trouble. Although Wang Jie's four sons have been in prison and studied in China, none of them entered the official career through contacts, let alone donated classes to buy officials. Wang Jie often educates his children and grandchildren. "It is right to enter the official position, and it will not be dazzled by the descendants of the Prime Minister." Therefore, Wang Jie's son doesn't seem to have much future. Only one grandson named Wang Du stepped into politics step by step through his own efforts and became a provincial minister during the Daoguang period. Wang Jie has held an important position in North Korea for more than ten years, being honest and outspoken. He was a rare honest man in the ruling group at that time, especially in the struggle against corrupt officials, and he often struggled with gentry in North Korea. After Emperor Jiaqing acceded to the throne, he announced He Shen's 20 major crimes. Wang Jie participated in the trial of Xiao Shenyang case and found out all kinds of corruption and bribery crimes in Xiao Shenyang. The Qing government collected more than 70 million yuan a year, while the property of small Shenyang was more than 800 million yuan, equivalent to the total tax revenue of the court for more than ten years. In this case, Emperor Jiaqing ordered Xiao Shenyang to commit suicide and confiscated his property. At that time, it was said: "Small Shenyang fell, and Jiaqing was full." It can be seen that Wang Jie played an important role in the struggle against Shenyang. Before and after Jiaqing, land acquisition and exploitation in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Henan and Chu were very serious, and people's lives were not very bitter. An Baili Uprising broke out in Henan, Shaanxi, Sichuan and Guizhou, and the Qing army sent troops to panic in the old nest, which could not be quelled for a long time. Wang Jie was dismissed due to illness, but he paid close attention to the An Baili Uprising, and immediately wrote to Emperor Jiaqing, advocating appeasement and preferential treatment for the "resigned" uprising masses. He believed that the root of the uprising was the darkness of local historical rule, and officials forced the people to revolt. Some people advocate that Xiang Yong and the rebels should be reorganized into formal troops by recruiting soldiers. During the Qianlong and Jiaqing years in Wang Jie, 1803, 79-year-old Wang Jie resigned and returned to his hometown. Before leaving, he also wrote a special letter, demanding to solve the problem of political corruption, and proposed to plug the country's financial loopholes through official rectification. He has been an official for more than forty years, and all he has is dozens of boxes of books and pots and pans for eating. Only one car is enough. On the day when Wang Jie resigned and left Beijing, Emperor Jiaqing gave him a walking stick and two poems of Qianlong as a token of his respect. There is a line in the poem, "The Tao stands upright in a temple, and the wind returns to Hancheng." Spoke highly of his life. An ordinary cart crunched on the road from Shi Jing to Hancheng. Since then, Geng Jie has lost an incorruptible court official, and the rural area of Hancheng has gained a down-to-earth old farmer. When Wang Jie returned to his hometown, his body was idle, so he wanted to make some contributions to his hometown. No one dared to invite him here, and finally he went to a neighboring county to be a tutor. When Wang Jie was a teacher, he severely lectured the prince and made him kneel. Today, I don't know if it's right or wrong, but his honest and upright, fearless of powerful people, daring to denounce evil and caring for people's livelihood are not only rare good officials at that time, but also the shame of corrupt officials and mediocre officials today!
