Bodies under firewood.
Xue Fucheng is bound to be mentioned in the section "Westernization Movement" in the modern history of middle schools.
Xue Fucheng was one of the few people in modern China who "opened their eyes to see the world" very early. Although he was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu, he was determined to give up the study of eight-part essay and devote himself to the study of practical learning when he was young. He appeared in Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang successively, and made great contributions to China's politics, economy, military affairs and diplomacy in the late Qing Dynasty.
Xue Fucheng is a practical person, so few people talk about articles, especially notes, which often have both literary and historical value. What is particularly worth mentioning is Wan Yong Notes (Xue Fucheng's Wan Yong), which occupies an important position in China's historical notes. It has collected a large number of information on politics, economy and social customs in the late Qing Dynasty, and also described many interesting anecdotes.
During the Jiaqing period, "people in some counties and townships in Zhejiang had wives". On the wedding night, the groom went out to the toilet for a long time. It was not until midnight that the family was busy all day and fell asleep, only to hear the voice of the groom returning to his room after going to the toilet. The next morning, the family got up and found the door of the bridal chamber wide open. They asked the bride and said that the groom went out early in the morning, and everyone should be busy eating, waiting for the groom to come home. Unexpectedly, the groom didn't come back for several days, and the family began to feel that something was wrong. They asked around the market. No one has seen the groom. When I got home, a servant suddenly felt that the firewood pile piled up in the corner of the toilet seemed a little "thick". When he opened it, he found the groom's body hidden inside!
The whole family was shocked and asked the bride what was going on! The bride sobbed and said, "On the candlelight night, the groom went out to go to the toilet shortly after entering the house and went back to sleep in the middle of the night. At dawn, he asked me how much gold and silver jewelry I had, saying it was urgent. I told him one by one. He got out of bed and asked what he had done. He said he was used to getting up early and asked me. The family suspected that it was not the groom who went back to the bridal chamber after going to the toilet. Asked about the man's appearance, the bride said, "It's late at night and the lights are dim. I can't see clearly at all, except that he seems to have six fingers. "
It happened that there was a six-fingered man in the village, who usually ran amok, stole chickens and touched dogs and molested women. "Everyone despises him." After hearing the bride's cry, the family decided that he killed the groom and complained to the county government. The county magistrate immediately ordered the arrest of the six fingers. At first, Six Fingers refused to admit that he had killed someone, but later he couldn't stand the torture and had to confess and was executed immediately.
Poor bride, just a few days after the wedding, the groom was killed and humiliated with six fingers. His honor has been defiled and he is an ominous thing in the eyes of outsiders. The only way out was to die, so he hanged himself. The groom's mother has only one son. A few days later, both her son and daughter-in-law died. The original joy turned into great sadness, and it was meaningless to live alone. She also hanged herself.
Shampoo shows six fingers.
A few years later, a businessman from the place where Six Fingers happened went to Fujian Province to do business and met a fellow villager in a hotel. He is very happy. They were drinking and chatting together, and the fellow villagers suddenly asked, "I heard that a groom was killed in my hometown a few years ago." I have been in Fujian for so many years. I don't know the situation. I wonder if that case has been solved? " The businessman said, "That case has long been solved, and the murderer has been beheaded." The villagers' faces suddenly showed a happy look.
That night, the businessman went outside to visit his compatriots. I entered the room and found him washing his hair, apologizing repeatedly, and was about to quit. Suddenly his eyes widened-because the man had six fingers on one hand scratching his hair!
Realizing the merchant's gaze, the fellow villager immediately covered his hand with six fingers, but this further exposed his ghost. The businessman asked him when he would come to Fujian. Why do you want to know so much about the murder of the groom? And said to him, "someone has been made a scapegoat, so just tell me the truth." What can you do? "
Six fingers villagers really can't stand cross-examination, so they have to tell the truth in detail. It turns out that many years ago, he was a thief. One day, he went to the neighboring village to see if there was any oil and water to fish for. When he saw that a family was going to have a wedding, he must have a lot of property to steal, so he hid in the toilet and planned to wait until everyone was asleep before stealing. Unexpectedly, the groom just came in to go to the bathroom. When they met, the thief was afraid that he would shout and expose himself. He rushed forward, grabbed the groom by the neck, strangled him alive, and then put on the groom. The next morning, I learned from the bride where the gold and silver jewelry was hidden, so I ransacked it and left, and fled to Fujian anonymously. Now I meet a businessman and want to make sure. Now that the case is closed and there is a scapegoat, he is going to find time to sneak home and have a look.
The businessman lied that Liuzhi was the real murderer, kept his secret and secretly sent someone to report it to the local government. That night, the hotel was surrounded by officials, and the real murderer of Six Fingers was arrested and brought to justice. The governor of Fujian prepared a memorial for this matter and handed over the case to Zhejiang Province for verification and handling. The six-finger murderer was sentenced to death, while the county magistrate who killed innocent people was arrested and punished. The governor and magistrate of Zhejiang were also severely punished by law for wrongful death.
Who raped the bride?
Coincidentally, there was more than the case of "six fingers unjust imprisonment" in the Qing Dynasty, and such a strange case was also recorded in Wu's note "Guest Window Gossip".
There is a rich man named Lin Baoguang in Anxian County, Shanxi Province. When he was in his fifties, he gave birth to a son named Lin. Lin Baoguang invited his cousin's son to be a housekeeper. This man has six fingers in his left hand. People call him "Zhang Qizhi". When Lin 15 years old, he wants to marry a daughter-in-law. Zhang Qi joked: "You are so young, how can you know about sex between men and women? Let me take your place. " Lin is very angry with him.
On the wedding day, hundreds of people attended the banquet, especially the younger generation. They surrounded Lin Tuan and insisted on getting him drunk. The bride waited for a long time in the new house, but didn't see her husband she had never met before, so she turned off the light and went to bed. Suddenly, she came to bed alone. The bride thought it was her husband, so she asked him to take off his clothes, and his extra fingers were obviously felt in skin contact. Say that finish, her husband hurried out of bed and went out.
After a while, Lin came in with a candle and wanted to do something with the bride. When the bride saw that his fingers were not six fingers, she let out a cry and shocked her family. Lin was very depressed and asked the bride what had happened. The bride scolded him for molesting himself. Lin said, "I am your husband, what are you flirting with!" " Hearing this, the bride burst into tears and said, "Just now, a man with six fingers, pretending to be the groom, entered the room and humiliated me. He just left. " Hearing this, Lin drew his sword and went straight into the house. When he saw Zhang Qizhi, he swung his sword away. With the arrival of his family, he picked up his sword and escorted Zhang Qizhi to the county government.
County magistrate Fang Yin tried litigants. Zhang Qi insisted that she had a stomachache in the middle of the wedding and went home. He did not rape the bride at all. Fang Yin found that Zhang Qi refers to a person with six fingers, learned that this person usually likes to engage in things between men and women, and concluded that he was the one who raped the bride. At this time, the news came that the bride hanged herself. In a rage, Fang Yin ordered the torture of Zhang Qi, and Zhang Qi was horrible.
But not long after, a thief named Cheng Saner was arrested in a neighboring county and admitted to raping Lin's bride during the trial. It turned out that on Lin's wedding day, Cheng Saner pretended to be a guest and sneaked into the banquet. Somehow, he went to his new home by mistake. When he saw the bride alone in the dark room, he was aroused by sexual desire and raped-and this Cheng Saner happened to be a six-fingered person.
In a sense, these two cases of "six fingers unjust imprisonment" are caused by logical errors in the reasoning process of county magistrate. As we all know, the so-called reasoning is to deduce a new thinking form of judgment (conclusion) from one or several known judgments (premises). In order to ensure the truth and reliability of the derived conclusions, it is required that each premise must be true and follow the corresponding logical rules.
