Teacher Wang Kai quoted people's attitudes towards Disciples Rules, which corresponded to two completely different interpretations of "Why for me". People think that Disciple's Rules is an enlightening book suitable for all ages to educate children, and it is a pediatrician's thing for adults who govern the country and the world. However, even if adults know, it is difficult to do it well.
Teacher Wang also cited the example of Zen master "Bird's Nest" to illustrate a truth: what you know cannot be done, and what you do cannot be done. For example, Bai Juyi asked the Zen master,' What is the general idea of Buddhism?' The Zen master of the Bird's Nest said, "All evil must be done, and all good must be pursued." Bai Juyi smiled unconsciously and said, "This is only the truth that a three-year-old child will say. Why use it to teach me an old man! " The Bird's Nest Zen Master said: "This is really what a three-year-old child will say, but unfortunately many people in their eighties have not done it!" "Jackson's words in the Bird's Nest are worth pondering. There are many truths in life that are easy to understand, but even these simple truths may not be well done in life. Therefore, in our hearts, we should regard saints as the goal of life and promote them to faith. In daily life, we should uphold this belief to regulate our behavior and be a man.
In this chapter, Confucius listed four things in daily life: serving the public or the masses, serving the fathers and brothers, doing my best in the funeral and not being trapped by alcohol. It is not difficult to do these simple things in daily life, but it is difficult to do them well and to the extreme. There is a saying: simple movements to the extreme are unique skills. What we need to practice is to do these simple things to the extreme and become our own unique skills. First, it is not easy to treat the elder brother of the leader with sincere respect. If you are a public official in charge or a father or a brother, respect the leader at work, honor your parents at home, and have a loving elder brother, you can be likable instead of rhetoric. In modern society, people tend to be more utilitarian. Without the guidance of the lofty goal of sanctification, respectful service to officials and fathers and brothers is only a moral norm, which is not solid. If leaders and parents can't follow our wishes, they may whisper to each other in their hearts, and in serious cases, they will turn against each other and be ungrateful. Second, funeral is also a cautious pursuit, respecting the performance of ancestors, and the attitude towards funeral is the attitude towards ancestors. We know that this meaning is a funeral on the surface, but in fact it is to pay homage to and connect with ancestors. When we know this spiritual connotation, we will be diligent in doing things. Third, don't be sleepy about wine. Although drinking is a trivial matter, it will lead to great disaster if you don't pay attention. Moreover, the wine mentioned by Teacher Wang here represents not only wine, but also habits in life. Habits, big or small, should be cultivated if they are good, and corrected if they are bad. If small things are not handled well, big things will happen.
The Confucian way of being a saint is just like the three realms mentioned by meditation: at the beginning of meditation, seeing mountains is mountains and water is water; In meditation, seeing mountains is not mountains and water is not water; When you realize in Zen, mountains are still mountains and water is still water. After reaching the highest state of life, it is in our daily words and deeds that we gain insight into the world and return to the truth. The more trivial things, the more attention should be paid. Zhu Dui said, don't take the above four things too lightly. If they are easy, it is not what Confucius said.
We often say that there is no trivial matter in education, and as teachers and students get along with each other every day, there are more trivial matters. It is how to deal with the education brought to students when dealing with these small things. Reading reading of the analects of confucius and listening to the tutor's explanation can better remind yourself not to aim too high, but to start with small things. Do what you know and do what you have to do.
