My company is listed on the Growth Enterprise Market, and the company leaders have entertained customers of Party A in the dining room, so to some extent, the company has the financial resources and the ability of chefs to improve food for employees.
So why is the food still so bad?
According to my observation for more than half a month, one of the reasons may be that our canteen is free and the space is limited.
There are more than 4,000 people in the company. Although the canteen occupies one floor, the number of seats is still dwarfed by the number of all employees.
Imagine if the food in the canteen is delicious and doesn't cost a penny, all the staff will be scrambling. Not only will the seats be full, but the food supply may not keep up.
And the company's 4000 people, in fact, the income level is uneven, and the monthly salary ranges from 4k to 10w. Everyone pursues food, the only difference is who is willing to spend money to pursue it.
In the case of poor food in the canteen, employees with high incomes are more willing to go out to eat out; Low-paid employees don't care too much about the taste of food in front of a (real) free lunch.
In other words, the company realizes the adjustment of supply by adjusting the taste of food, rather than a blunt one-size-fits-all policy restriction. On the premise of limited resources, we have achieved a reasonable distribution and let "just need" enjoy basic benefits.
In today's high prices, free lunch can completely offset the complaints about poor taste in the hearts of people who just need it.
On the other hand, in terms of cost, the company does not lose money. The raw materials and labor costs of unpalatable meals are not high, but employees just need to stay in the company from morning till night and go to work after a meal.
You know, if you eat out and wander on the road after dinner, it will take at least an hour to get to work.
Therefore, the cost of free meals is not worth mentioning in front of "overtime".
Don't forget, free lunch can also bring a good reputation of "caring for employees"
A win-win result, the company leaders simply dig deep into the essence, haha.
