According to Andy Lau (hereinafter referred to as Hua Zai), my parents believe in Buddhism and have been in contact with Buddhism since childhood, but they all go to temples to worship Buddha, visit and tour, and they have a little knowledge of Buddhist teachings. It is only in recent years that I really understand Buddhism and convert to Buddhism as my own religious belief.
Before that, Hua Tsai had contacted and got to know many eminent monks and great virtues in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Later, after a friend introduced me, I learned that there was an old monk named Lian in Lingyanshan Temple in Taiwan Province, which was a kind of "fate". When Huazai first saw the kind and solemn Buddhism of the old monk, he was worried and kept quiet. Like a lotus in the world of mortals, I feel cool and comfortable; The plain words of the old monk are the revelation of the wisdom of the monk Prajna; Sincere and sincere teaching is nothing more than endless sorrow and hope for the world; Huazai had the idea of refuge at his leisure, so he became a true Buddhist disciple under the guidance of the old monk Miaolian, whose dharma name was "Huiguo".
"All laws are born of karma and destroyed by karma." This is what Buddhism calls karma.
On the day of refuge, Hua Tsai asked Master: Will he become a monk?
The old monk Miaolian said: We believe in Buddhism and learn from the scriptures, and we must achieve fate-everything changes with fate, and everything depends on fate.
Since Huazai returned to Sambo and got in touch with Buddhism seriously, inspired by Master Miaolian, an old monk, his life goal is different from before, and he doesn't miss learning as much as before. After learning Buddhism, it is easier to accept unsatisfactory things. Master often said, "Look on the bright side, just bear it!"! Since some things must be done, why not do them happily? Is everyone happy? Accept, tolerate and tolerate as much as possible; If you do anything with joy, you can do it better and be happy. " Being a man is more generous than before, and my outlook on life is also open-minded and cheerful!
Because I don't know much about Buddhism, I won't preach Buddhism, so I should do more charity. I remember that Master often taught his disciples, "Before you become a Buddhist, you should make friends first. As long as you use your compassion, speak well and help others do good things; When you see people doing good, you will be happy and envious, and you will be able to repair Futian. " Money or efforts to help the poor and helpless can build good relationships. As an artist, you can use your identity media to promote goodness and persuade more people to give love and participate in charitable activities.
Many times, Hua Zai went to Taiwan Province Province to film, but he couldn't find time to visit Master at Lingyanshan Temple. He can only say hello by phone. There are not many opportunities to meet with Master, so Master can't always make suggestions, but he can learn the true meaning of Buddhism from other disciples or good knowledge. Hua Zai feels that Master's knowledge of Buddhism is in front of him. He cares whether he has the heart to learn or not, depending on whether he can feel it. Absorb?
When talking with the old monk Miaolian, Huazai felt that Master mostly used simple metaphors to bring his beliefs and truths to himself, which was easy to understand. What is "first"? Artists, in particular, are often worried about winning this "first place" in this entertainment circle. But the revelation that Master gave me "first" is that when everyone needs you, you can give them what they need, and you are "first". Everything has a second place. Buddhism stresses karma, seasons and karma. You should follow the first step step by step. You don't want it before the time, and you don't want it when the time comes. People who study Buddhism should be selfless, just as the Buddha said, "Don't seek happiness for yourself, and let all beings learn from suffering." Don't do things with selfishness, just for yourself, at the expense of others.
I once asked Hua Tsai what his new understanding of Buddhism was after his conversion.
Frankly speaking, Hua Tsai's understanding of Buddhism is still limited. Nevertheless, he admits that Buddhism inspired his outlook on life: "Before I converted, I complained a lot, and I had to ask why everything happened. After the transformation, I am more adaptable to reality. Although it is not impossible to ask for nothing, it will not be affected by some unsatisfactory things, and my mood is much calmer than before. I used to look at things from my own standpoint. If things are not done well, I will blame myself and can't let go. It's much better now, knowing tolerance, and my heart is much easier. It's no big deal! " Miao Lian, an old monk, has a Cantonese translation CD and tape with Andy Lau as the narrator. So intentionally or unintentionally attracted more people's attention. With pious heart and touching voice, Huazai recorded the opening question and answer of his master, the old monk Miaolian, "A Reminder", and became attached to it for free, showing his master's Putonghua in Cantonese for the convenience of Hong Kong believers and citizens. From conception, production to circulation, it is low-key, which shows Huazai's wholehearted heart and respect for Master.
Andy Lau is an amphibious artist of film and television songs, with a certain level of voice expression. However, in many concerts, acting, advertising, reading scripts and fitness, how can he have time to do such seemingly simple but complicated translation work? What prompted him to do it?
Hua Tsai himself explained, "I think Hong Kong people are far less interested in reading than listening to vocal cords. Reading is quite popular in Taiwan Province Province and Chinese mainland, but in Hongkong, especially if you want to promote Buddhism, you must get twice the result with half the effort. So I thought it would be much easier for everyone to listen to stories and songs if Master's explanation of my confusion was translated into Cantonese and recorded on CD. This is the origin of this matter. We recorded 50,000 films in the first batch. I don't know if there are too many, and how many. I put it down and didn't ask. It is of course the best thing that someone likes it and can promote it. I think my master will be very happy. " Hua Zai has served as five ambassadors in Hongkong and Taiwan Province: fire ambassador, anti-drug ambassador, image ambassador of bone marrow donation fund, honorary ambassador of Ocean Park cetacean protection fund and goodwill ambassador of life education center. As an "ambassador" of public welfare activities, he pays love to the society and promotes the improvement of the humanistic quality of Hong Kong and Taiwan. Hua Zi claimed: "If any Buddhist group needs its help, I will try my best to take time to cooperate and hope to participate in more charitable activities! Amitabha! "
