Shandong Vocational Information Technology College is located in Weifang City, Shandong Province. It is a public and provincial institution of higher learning approved by Shandong Provincial People's Government and put on record by China People's and Ministry of Education.
It is the construction unit of the national model software vocational and technical college, the national training base for high-skilled talents in electronic information industry, the designated college for training non-commissioned officers in the army, the "3+2" counterpart training undergraduate enrollment pilot college in Shandong Province, and the independent enrollment pilot college in Shandong Province.
It is the leading unit of Shandong Virtual Reality Vocational Education Group, Internet of Things Vocational Education Group and Cyberspace and Information Security Vocational Education Group, and it is a public training base for high-end equipment manufacturing of virtual reality services.
The school can be traced back to Weifang Electronic Industry Bureau RTVU and Weifang RTVU Recorder Factory founded in 1979. 1985 was changed to Shandong Weifang Electronic Industry School, and 1987 was changed to Shandong Information Engineering School. In July, 2002, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college and renamed Shandong Information Vocational and Technical College.
