Prosperous China Feelings and Educational Feelings —— A Record of "Birds of Paradise" on Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau

I first arrived in Guiyang and settled in Guizhou University near Shilitan. In Guiyang in early winter, mountains and rivers are in front of us, and the layers of trees have faded away from the prosperity of summer. Red, yellow, gray, green and yellow, phoenix trees die brilliantly, and ginkgo in winter is like the wanton yellow in Van Gogh's works. Guiyang is like autumn in the north and winter in the north, but it is not frozen in the cold, drawing on the strengths of the north and the south and forming its own school. Walking in the cold wind, there is warm sunshine, and at this time, my mind is unprecedentedly calm and everything is just right.

It takes about one and a half hours to drive from Guiyang to Huishui. Visiting Shenghua, an unheard-of school, has no sincere desire to visit and explore the unknown. Think of it as a time to go out and relax-breathe the fresh air in the mountains.

The bus drove into the digital town of Hundred Birds River and walked on the winding forest road in the scenic spot. At the foot of the mountain on both sides of the road, a 10 km long plank road winds along the mountain. Reinforced concrete pouring column beam frame, floor handrail are all laid with pure wood floor. Wherever the road goes, the plank road goes. Although it was designed for people, it did not destroy the scenery and broke the monotony of the mountain.

When I came to the gate of Shenghua Vocational and Technical College, I was greeted by an eye-catching brand on the edge of the school gate. The main body of the sign is a leafy ginkgo tree with birds on it. The school is located in Hundred Birds River, where there are many ginkgo trees in Guizhou, and there are 9 ginkgo trees around Guiyang that are 5,000 years old. Ginkgo represents tenacity, calmness and innocence, birds symbolize students and freedom, and "trees" are their paradise. In China, we are used to the same symbols such as sports, banks and schools, but it is rare for a university to take "tree" as the main symbol. This inevitably aroused my interest.

In the distance, the mountains are surrounded by smoke clouds and buildings are scattered at the foot of the mountain. Shenghua's campus is not big. As a college student, it's only three or four thousand. One morning, I visited Tangrenfang Intangible Heritage College, Virtual Reality Industry Development College, Tea College and Blind College. Shenghua's professional layout connects the past, the present and the future: Intangible Heritage College has established a "National Costume Museum", which is said to be inferior to the relevant collections of Shengbo, and has carried out school-enterprise cooperation with Tangrenfang. The Tang Renfang in Beijing meets the ethnic minorities in Guizhou, which endows the tradition with contemporary significance through modern design. Tea College combines local characteristic industries, and the hill near the school is the tea farm, which trains tea professionals from planting, picking, making and selling tea to tea art. When we were discussing the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, Shenghua gave a good answer. Shenghua is located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, in the southwest corner, not even in the provincial capital city. Such a public welfare school serving poor students not only offers management majors, but also VR virtual reality majors. Near the school is a new industrial park led by "Internet to increase data application"-Hundred Birds River Digital Town. Baidu, Infosys, Lenovo and many other well-known big data companies at home and abroad have settled here. Shenghua is also the only school in Guizhou Province that enrolls blind people. As a disadvantaged group, Shenghua established a college for the blind at the foot of a mountain far away from the teaching area. At that time, five wooden houses with warm yellow tones were scattered, in order to give the blind a relatively safe and quiet environment. The college established the first blind orchestra in Guizhou province, and the world champion Cai also studied here through the "college entrance examination at the fingertips". Every blind student has a separate hut. In a warm hut, a blind classmate improvised a drum set for us. In the dark world, there are invisible music partners, companions and teachers.

During the lunch break, we came to the Tea College. The students specially took out the "biochemical green" tea made by their team and invited us to taste it. During the tea break, the students talked about various schools, and their gratitude for them was beyond words. Students are even more grateful to volunteers from all over the world for coming here to teach. Teachers' meticulous care for their life and study is an important source for students to rebuild their self-confidence. Especially when it comes to the recent renal failure of students, teachers and students have made generous and selfless donations. When it comes to the emotional situation, their gratitude to the school is beyond words.

One morning in Shenghua, I always had two questions. One is why we built a 10 km long plank road, and the other is why the pigeons on campus are so fat (this is the fattest pigeon I have ever seen).

With these two questions, Executive Vice President Yang shared the theme of "Promoting learning through public welfare, helping the poor through education-cultivating noble professionals".

President Yang first explained the feelings of "educator" teachers with four words: teacher, affection, kindness, love and rhyme, which is also Shenghua's school-running goal-to cultivate noble professionals. In a simple sentence, the subjectivity of "people" is revealed.

How to cultivate noble people? Shenghua has passed "six series of education (gratitude, honor, honesty, teamwork, responsibility and self-improvement)", "six habits (smiling, greeting, Putonghua, cleaning bowls, cleaning gardens and speaking English)", "a love donation" and "two prohibitions and two reductions and one classification (no smoking, no plastic bags, less disposable bags and less cooked food)" Star campus, star dormitory; Star management, star learning). President Yang shared with us the touching stories of Wei and Liu Zhengxiang. Speaking of Wei's "The doctor said I could live for three months, but I lived for twenty-three months", I once choked up and cried. The confrontation between Liu Zhengxiang and President Yang, who is suffering from cancer, may be the most brilliant and touching story in his life. President Yang is teasing pigeons on campus. It turns out that these pigeons are public welfare activities of the school: every time they are fed, they donate five yuan. As a result, the pigeons in the school are getting fatter and fatter. At this point, everyone suddenly realized. In school safety management, President Yang takes two aspects as the breakthrough point: one is "three beds with two or seven points" and the other is "five fears". The so-called "three beds" means "getting up in the morning, falling in love with the bed at noon and going to bed at night", and "two or seven o'clock" means "leaving school at seven in the morning and returning to school at seven in the evening". The school is located in the mountainous area, and there are few people around the campus. "Mountain, water, cars, snakes and diseases" are listed as "five fears", reminding students every day. The winding plank road of 10 km from the school gate is a "safety bridge" for students' lives.

How to train professional people? Shenghua is built around "internationalization" and "personalization", which are "culture" and "skills". In the teaching class, Shenghua takes "quality cultivation" and "ability evaluation" as the core. The former emphasizes basic quality and ability, while the latter emphasizes professional quality and ability. In teaching practice, Shenghua pays attention to the international integration: 1 15 Volunteers from Europe, America and Hong Kong come here to teach English. They not only attend classes every day, but also exercise and live together with students, so that students can really get rid of "dumb English". Relying on the big data industry town, the Internet Marketing College "goes to work in class and the teacher is the manager"; Virtual Reality Institute uses VR to create the world, and strives to make it an important means to solve the problem of educational balance. "3+ EQ" and "VR English" in business schools; The "five-dimensional integration" of tea college; "Homework is work, and work is product" by Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage; "Rehabilitation" and "Modern Pop Music" in the Institute for the Blind. Shenghua's "project-driven" teaching has achieved initial results, and the students trained "can find employment after graduation, and employment can become the backbone."

Dr. Sun Wei, CEO of Shenghua, has a simple article "Shenghua College Should Run Different Vocational Education", which is about what kind of school to run from Beijing to Guizhou? President Sun said "I want to run a different university" and gave a detailed explanation of "different". This "difference" is every detail practiced by Yang, the executive vice president, and every brilliant smiling face printed on the tiles on the wall of the school "Smile Square".

Shenghua University is a charitable university established by the chairman of HTC, entrepreneurs from Taiwan Province and Chen. Two noble investors and an idealist have made today's prosperity. As an underdeveloped province in China, there are still 4.93 million rural people in Guizhou who need to get rid of poverty urgently. Nearly 90% of Shenghua students come from rural areas of Guizhou. Shenghua takes "promoting learning through public welfare, helping the poor through education" as its purpose, and since its establishment, it has written "no return, saving to help students" into the school charter. It is better to teach people to fish than to teach them to fish. Shenghua strives to explore a road of "education industry" to help the poor, and carries out "multi-dimensional poverty alleviation" closely around "helping the poor, helping the weak, helping the women, helping the poor, helping the volunteers, helping the wisdom, helping the heart and giving love". Based on this concept, a systematic education poverty alleviation system covering all poor students has been established, including freshman scholarships, rewarding outstanding students, labor poverty alleviation, special poverty alleviation, honesty poverty alleviation, and volunteer love assistance. In the special poverty alleviation for blind students, tuition fees, book fees and accommodation fees are exempted, and 400 yuan's living expenses are paid every month, and the annual round-trip transportation fee is 1 1,000 yuan; Honest poverty alleviation policy, students can apply for 5000 yuan to help them solve their life difficulties; After graduation, with an annual income of more than 50,000 yuan, you need to donate to the school's help fund and continue to help poor students in the form of love relay; Shenghua supports poor students with entrepreneurial ability to actively start their own businesses, providing facade and utilities free of charge, so that they can start their entrepreneurial dreams at zero cost. ...

On the packaging of the tea box, the founder wrote such a Tibetan poem:

Such as snow lotus in the mountains and Anh Hong ice peak; The essence of ancient and modern literature in Shendian is endless; For the benefit of generations of children and grandchildren, there is much to be done.

People with lofty ideals gather in the world, and students all over the world seek dreams; Poor visually impaired women long for it, and honesty and love are noble.

Ali has beautiful scenery, and father and daughter inherit public welfare; Taste Maoxiang tea, destiny takes a hand, and help the poor through education.

This is the best annotation to Shenghua's public welfare education.

When the bus pulled out of Shenghua, I was worried that the driver's master accidentally ran over a fat pigeon on the way to school. Looking out the window at the tea garden in the mountains, the winding plank road at the foot of the mountain, and the modern digital town, I imagined that the ginkgo tree was drifting away. I imagined that it grew stronger and stronger in ten, fifty and one hundred years, but it was still so pure, attracting this group of free birds to inhabit among the branches. ...

It is a "bird of paradise" growing in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.
