Visiting Hundred Villages by Riding Literature (ⅵ): Julong Ancient Village in Fangcun

Kouniu Haijin

This place belongs to the west of Guangzhou-the west of Liwan District. Nicknamed "Flower Land", commonly known as Fangcun, I call it "Sicily", haha.

In the fifteenth year of Guangxu, that is, Gregorian calendar 1889, a family of 20 overseas Chinese from Guangdong moved to Julong village on the west bank of the Pearl River in Guangzhou from Siyi.

Ten years ago, that is, 1879, the Kuang family bought 200 mu of land here and built a unified blue brick house with the same design. They have three rows of ***2 1 buildings, each row of which is more than 200 square meters, and started Kuang's business and life in Guangzhou.

Then, several clan leaders in the village became business tycoons in South Guangdong during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.

Then, after years of wars and political movements, these things gradually disappeared in the fifties and sixties.

A few years ago, during 2008, I learned from the newspaper online that "there is a well-preserved ancient architectural complex of the Qing Dynasty-Julong Ancient Village between Yongkou Street and Zhaocun in Fangcun, Guangzhou, with the original building of 2 1 and the remaining 19".

It is said that the family group built by the three brothers of Kuang's family has a well-organized layout, with seven streets, three rows in front, three rows in the middle and three rows in the back, two turrets and a primary school.

Home architecture is more distinctive. There are many walkways in the front door, exquisite wood carvings and Manchu windows, cornices carved on the facade, colored paintings and gray carvings, which still preserve the complete traditional historical features.

All right, go and have a look.

Check Baidu map, Julong Ancient Village is located in the southeast of Huadi Avenue.

Until the last month or two, I traveled to and from Nanhai District and Yuexiu District on Huadi Avenue every day, so I "decided" to visit Julong Ancient Village on Sundays when there was no business.

Unexpectedly, I didn't find it on the first Sunday.

Take turns going in and out from Huadi Avenue to three or four crosswalks. There are no road signs and no passers-by can directly tell you the exact direction.

Why is there no car navigation? Because when I visited an ancient village in Siyi the year before last, I was guided by car navigation to a ridge 2 meters wide and 3 kilometers long. The slut in the navigator guided me forward again and again. Although I was suspicious, I believed her.

Until the end of the road, wow, wow, wow, and then the black fish pond is watching the sun, all his glory, you slut, you are going to kill me.

When I backed the car back to the tractor lane angrily, I threw the navigator into the rice field and vowed never to use her again.

I went online to Baidu the day before yesterday, but some people really couldn't find Julong Village.

It may be that the old "flower people" here don't want outsiders to disturb their quiet living area.

Then, next Sunday, we must drive in at every southbound intersection of Huadi Avenue and North Road, and we must not be ashamed to ask for directions.

The next Sunday is today. We've been asking for directions. After many twists and turns, I finally found it

It, Julong Village, is in the road north of Huada Road, by the river. Very easy to find!

At first glance, the walls of the Daqing brick house are all made of a whole piece of hemp stone, and the gray carvings on the window lintels are painted with rich and auspicious patterns.

The door of the big house is divided into several layers, from the outside to the inside, there are corner doors, gates and gates in turn.

Peeking into the room through the gap in the high window, the decoration in the room is very general. It is estimated that all the previous sports have died, so that there is nothing to see.

The interior design of the building is similar, the hall is symmetrical on both sides, and four rooms are arranged on each side.

There are three screen doors in the hall.

Many screen woodcarvings have faded due to age.

There are usually five rooms on the second floor, and sometimes poems are embedded in the colored windows.

Among them, 16, 17, 18 and 19 have been designated as key cultural relics protection units in Guangzhou, so their internal structures are relatively complete, all of which are made of blue bricks, rocks and wooden structures, with waist doors, ramps and wooden doors at the entrance, and carved covers and colorful western styles in the house.

Well, quaint, elegant and cultured, it's worth seeing.

Julong Village is also called Kuangjia Village.

Kuang Chen Wu, the owner of Julongcun 12 building, founded "Kuangmeinan Brothers Shoes Factory", and its products have been exported to Southeast Asia;

He also opened a "Tianyuan Teahouse" in the downtown area for people to drink tea and chat. This teahouse is the predecessor of Qingping Hotel in Guangzhou.

Hehe, the golden signboard "Qingping Chicken" originally originated here.

The owner of Julong Village 1 Building is Kuang Jueming, who used to run many shops in Guangzhou Taiping South Road (now Renmin South Road) 10.

Kuang Hengshi, the owner of No.21Building in Julong Village, was a prominent "golden giant" in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. He once founded "Li Xing Jin Pu" in Hong Kong, specializing in gold in Hong Kong, Macao and Guangzhou.

Kuang, the owner of Ju dragon three Village, was a pioneer of Guangzhou newspaper industry, an official of the Qing Ministry of Education, a commercial consul of the Qing government in Singapore and an assistant to business counselor.

I don't know whether he is "a very good businessman" or just an official.

Some people say that Julong Village also held a "lettuce party" (a festive festival that began in Nanhai Prefecture).

On the day of "Lettuce Festival", lively lion dances, competitions and dramas gathered in front of the village one after another, and ships crisscrossed and entered the river to welcome guests.

The slate roads in the village are old and new (Cantonese: new and old), the alleys are painted (Cantonese: neat), the lines on the gray walls are clear, and the wooden windows are exquisite and small. Just like Lu You said, I dreamed of going home suddenly at night, and Xiao Xuan window was dressing up; No words care for each other, only a thousand lines of tears; It is estimated that the annual heartbroken place, moonlit night, short matsuoka.

Zuiguan Park by Huadi River is a famous historical garden in Fangcun, Guangzhou. It was originally one of the eight gardens in Fangcun in Qing Dynasty, and many poems were left here by literati and poets.

By the way, Fangcun is not a village concept. At that time, it was quite a county, which was more prosperous than most counties in China.

Kang Youwei studied in Xiaopengxian Museum when he was young. According to reports, in the 13th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, Kang Youwei once lived in Wansongyuan, the predecessor of Fangcun Zuiguan Park, and wrote a book "Justice on Earth".

A villager said, 1949, at the beginning of the liberation of Nanyue, a group of Shanghainese came to Guangzhou to do business, and they rented in Julong Village. (What about now? ) "It's long gone".

Looking for monuments along the road:

Oyster shell house;

Ancient banyan;

Hedong commune former site;

Sheikh Diesel Engine Factory;

Yuling Bridge, Julong Bridge and Yuelong Bridge;

Christian church;

Xiao Peng Fairy Pavilion, Zuiguan Park;

Theater and study, Qinglong and White Tiger;

The school that Kang Youwei attended as a child-now called "Kang Youwei Memorial Primary School"

……

Some are still there, and some are gone. They are all thought-provoking old places. Relatives and friends in Luoyang asked each other, hehe, the camera murdered many clicks.

In the past, the Civil War, Japanese invasion, years of civil strife, private ownership, the whole movement, Kuang family business is not good, survival is not easy, life is not good. We've been apart for years.

Su Shi said, turn to Zhuge, low-lying households, don't sleep; There should be no hate, why should you leave round? People have joys and sorrows, and the moon is full of ups and downs. This matter is ancient and difficult; I hope people will live for a long time and have a good scenery thousands of miles away.

Su's Shuidiao is more cheerful, and Li Bai's Shuidiao is more crisp and neat-but since the water is still flowing, even though we cut it with a knife, the sadness is still flowing, even though we drown our sorrows with wine; Since the world can't satisfy our desire, I will loosen my hair and get on a fishing boat tomorrow.

Mine, it's sad-

Inclined eaves, enameled eaves, locked wooden doors, no waves and no rivers, and the cold wind in February flows under the swaying warm sun.

Cold village house, clean alley, empty small stage, silent courtyard leaves, Kuang family in Julong village, where have you been?

My hometown is sad, which I silently wrote when I left here.
