Geely and Shuncheng Group invested in the construction of the world's first100000 ton methanol plant, which was put into operation in Anyang.

On February 2 1, the world's first100000 ton green low-carbon methanol plant jointly invested by Geely Holding Group and Henan Shuncheng Group was officially put into operation in Anyang. This is the first plant in China and the largest in the world to produce green and low-carbon methanol by carbon dioxide hydrogenation, which has lit a new beacon for China's energy diversification strategy and is a vivid practice to promote China's modernization.

Three agreements were also signed at the ceremony, namely, the framework agreement for the second phase of Anyang's green and low-carbon methanol preparation, the establishment of a new energy commercial vehicle operating company and the project of coal char full value chain decision-making simulation platform. Geely Alcohol Hydrogen Technology signed an order for 300 methanol heavy trucks with Shuncheng Group, and delivered 30 vehicles in the first batch to help zero-carbon land transportation.

At the same time, the factory adopts the world-leading carbon dioxide capture and purification process with completely independent intellectual property rights in China to recover carbon dioxide from industrial tail gas.

Green reform of commercial vehicles is imperative. It is understood that commercial vehicles only account for 12% of car ownership, but they consume more than half of gasoline and diesel, and emit 56% of carbon dioxide.

Geely alcohol and hydrogen technology lays out the whole value chain ecology, builds a complete green methanol transport capacity ecology of alcohol, transportation, stations and vehicles, and helps high-efficiency zero-carbon land transportation. This time, Shuncheng Group purchased 300 Geely long-distance heavy trucks and put them into use as logistics vehicles. The fuel used by vehicles comes from green low-carbon methanol produced by Anyang methanol plant. It is estimated that the annual diesel consumption will be reduced by 6.5438+0.5 million tons, the carbon emission will be reduced by 45,000 tons, and the annual fuel cost will be saved by about 30 million yuan, which not only saves the cost, but also recovers carbon dioxide. This is the first time that all the fuel of commercial vehicles comes from green low-carbon methanol, which truly realizes the ecological closed loop of green energy transportation from energy production to filling to application. If this model is replicated in the whole country, it will help China to develop methanol economy and promote the construction of green transportation system.
