Pick up the statue of the cloth bag monk
Stepping into the king's hall, we were greeted by the world's first Maitreya Buddha statue, a cloth bag monk. This statue is very different from the Maitreya statue in traditional temples. He took Maitreya as the incarnation, that is, the five generations of eminent monks as the physical prototype, dressed in a golden robe with red outside and green inside, and put his hands forward, giving people the feeling of "welcome, acceptance and hug", which means that modern Buddhism will change the passive missionary mode of seclusion in the mountains and go with the flow to preach actively on earth, which is the best interpretation of "human Buddhism". It is said that this phase can accommodate all kinds of roots, races, ages and life forms, so it is also called Maitreya Buddha, which intuitively explains the spirit of "tolerance, harmony and happiness" in Tiangong Scenic Area. This potbellied statue of Maitreya is elegant and dignified, and its golden robes are beautiful and smooth, just like real clothes. Skillful craftsmen skillfully outline the surface decoration of the cassock with gold thread, which perfectly blends the two saturated colors of red and green. There is an interesting story about the origin of this gold cassock. Legend has it that the king at that time presented a golden cassock to the Buddha, and the Buddha gave it to the monks. Monks saw such gorgeous robes, and no one dared to ask for them. Only Maitreya accepted it gladly, put it on her body every day and begged for food everywhere. This caused some monks to talk about it, but Maitreya didn't care. Buddha Sakyamuni explained to his disciples: "Maitreya went to the Heavenly Palace after his death, and was born 5.67 billion years later. He became a Buddha under the Longhua tree and was divided into three meetings (namely, the" Longhua Three Meetings "), which transformed countless beings." In the future, the Jambu-Di^pa (world) where Maitreya is transformed will have a beautiful environment and a beautiful life, and all the trees will grow gorgeous clothes.
Maitreya, also translated as cishi, in Mahayana Bodhisattva, Guanyin stands for great compassion, Manjusri stands for great wisdom, Tibet stands for great wishes, Pu Xian stands for great deeds, and Maitreya stands for great kindness. According to Buddhist scriptures, Maitreya Bodhisattva has been practicing "Samadha" since the infinite robbery in the past, so it is called Tzu Chi, and its disciples are called Tzu Chi. He is the fifth Buddha robbed by sages after Sakyamuni Buddha, and also the protector of Buddhism in late France. He is an extremely special figure in Buddhism. Not only Mahayana Buddhism believed in him, but also Hinayana Buddhism believed in him. Tibetan Buddhism regards him as the future Buddha to worship his beliefs, so Maitreya Buddha statues are very popular from the royal family down to the folk. For example, the largest wooden statue of Maitreya, originally enshrined by the Qing royal family, stands in Yonghe Palace in Beijing. Known as "the first sitting Buddha statue in the world", Leshan Giant Buddha in the Tang Dynasty in Sichuan is the largest Maitreya Buddha statue in China, as well as Xinchang Giant Buddha in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and Ke Yan Stone Buddha in Shaoxing Huijishan area. According to Buddhist classics, Maitreya's way of seeking Tao is different from that of Sakyamuni and Guanyin Bodhisattva. Maitreya focuses on "giving music", but on "doing good and convenient": persuading people to return to Buddha, doing good and keeping precepts; Maitreya Bodhisattva once said that when he became a Buddha, his wish was that "the people of our country should be free from all kinds of filth, indifferent to obscenity and anger, and diligent in doing ten good deeds". According to the description of the future "Maitreya Pure Land" in the Maitreya Sutra, the people are rich and the transportation is developed; Political clarity and beautiful environment; Medical development, health and longevity; People are kind and society is equal. However, the realization of this ideal country should satisfy Maitreya's ten wishes: for example, to "soften the hearts of all beings", to make people "harmonious", "feed people", to help people in trouble and "make people happy". According to Buddhist scriptures, Maitreya Bodhisattva led his people to the mortal world twice, and appeared in Yiwu and Fenghua around Huiji Mountain in Zhejiang Province, where he became a master Fu (a layman) and a cloth-bag monk (a monk) to transform all beings.
Four Statues of donkey kong Warriors
Buddhists who stand on both sides of Buddhists' Buddhists' are four famous dharma gods, also known as the Four donkey kong or the Four Kings who protect the world. They have the virtue of rewarding good and punishing evil. When Sakyamuni Buddha was alive, they swore to be the protector of the Buddha and protect him forever. The statues of the four heavenly kings (King Kong) in Longhua Temple in Huiji Mountain are majestic. Based on the murals of Huayan Temple in Shanxi Province, the image of military commanders in the Tang Dynasty was restored and the shape was widened. The armor on the statues of the four heavenly kings is made of pure gold, which shows the majesty of their kings. Since ancient times, the four heavenly kings have all appeared as generals, and there has been no fixed pattern in past dynasties. Influenced by the list of gods in Ming Dynasty, it was equipped with standard instruments, such as: the most famous heavenly king in the north held a treasure umbrella to indicate "good weather", the western heavenly king held a dragon ball to indicate "good weather", the southern king held a sword to indicate "a peaceful country" and the eastern king held a pipa to indicate "good weather". Due to the increase of ghosts and gods after the secularization in Ming and Qing Dynasties, the heavenly king was ferocious in appearance and stepped on a kid and a woman at his feet. In fact, Buddhist statues are designed to show Buddhism. Traditional statues mean to get rid of beauty (women) and evil (imps) and put them in the clothes of religion and ghosts. But this appearance does not conform to the origin of Buddhism, nor does it conform to Buddhism. Buddhism emphasizes the equality of all beings, including gender equality.
Wei Tuo, sit tight.
Sitting back in Maitreya, the armor-clad advocate is Wei Tuo, the great protector of the Three Realms, who won 32 titles for the four heavenly kings, and showed himself as a holy bodhisattva, personally inheriting the dharma teachings ordered by the Buddha. According to ancient records, Wei Tuo Bodhisattva was originally the incarnation of the ancient Buddha, so it was called Bodhisattva because of its compassion, protection against evil spirits and righteousness, and cash was a blessing to the gods. In Buddhist temples in China, the statue of Bodhisattva Wei Tuo always faces the temple to protect the Dojo. Since ancient times, most of the bodhisattvas in Wei Tuo are statues, and there are few sitting statues. We are here to show the sacred status of Wei Tuo and support the throne to show our respect. In Buddhism, this century is called the robbery of sages. Among thousands of buddhas robbed by sages, Sakyamuni Buddha is the fourth Buddha, Maitreya Buddha is the fifth Buddha and Wei Tuo Bodhisattva is the last Buddha. Before becoming a Buddha, Bodhisattva Wei Tuo made a great wish to protect the teachings of the 999 Buddhas in front of her. The sitting statue of Wei Tuo in front of us is based on Wei Tuo's sitting posture in the land and water paintings of the Ming Dynasty, with his feet tilted and King Kong in the sky, which shows that this temple not only provides a world for women, but also invisible heaven and man can come to listen to the Dhamma.
