Zhangjialoufang

Located in Liangzi Neighborhood Committee of Liangzi Town, Liangzihu Island, Ezhou City. 1944- 1946, the southern Hubei Anti-Japanese Command, the eastern Hubei Military Command and the brigade headquarters of the 14th Brigade were stationed here, and an anti-Japanese base area centered on Liangzi Island was established to lead the anti-Japanese guerrilla war in southern Hubei. The former site was built in Qing Dynasty, with an area of130m2. The former site has important historical value for studying the guerrilla war against Japan in southern Hubei. (the fifth batch)

Zhangjialou, formerly known as Zhangjia Furnace Workshop, was built in the Qing Dynasty. It was originally a private school and later a workshop. 1February, 945, the Eighth Route Army's southward detachment, which joined forces with the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army, continued southward after a short rest and supplement in Dawushan. The Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army sent Zhang Tixue to lead the 40th and 41st regiments of the 14th Brigade of the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army to cooperate with the Eighth Route Army's southward detachment, cross the Yangtze River, advance into southern Hubei, and establish base areas behind enemy lines. At the beginning of May, with the approval of the Central Committee, the Provisional Party Committee, the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Military Region and the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Border Administrative Office were established. Wang Zhen was appointed commander of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Military Region, Wang Shoudao was appointed temporary party secretary and political commissar of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Border Region, Zhang Tixue was appointed deputy commander of the military region, and Nie Hong was appointed director of the administrative office of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Border Region. After the establishment of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Border Region, the Provisional Party Committee of the Border Region decided that Wang Zhen would lead the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th teams of the Southern Team to advance to the north of Hunan. With the strong support of the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army and the Hubei-Henan-Anhui-Hunan-Jiangxi Border Region, Wang Shoudao led directly under the authority, the third and fourth detachments and the local armed forces in southern Hubei to raid the work in southern Hubei, consolidating and developing the anti-Japanese base areas in the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Border Region with southern Hubei as the main body. In mid-May, Zhang Tixue launched an armed struggle around Li Fanhu, during which he once lived in Zhangjialou on Liangzi Island, where the army headquarters was located. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, in order to avoid civil war and strive for peaceful founding of the country, the Party Committee of the border region of Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Hunan and Jiangxi and the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army ordered the party and government organs and people's armed forces in the southern Hubei base area to withdraw to Jiangbei according to the instructions of the central authorities. In September, 1945, the 14th Brigade of the 5th Division of the New Fourth Army was ordered to evacuate to the liberated area of eastern Hubei in Jiangbei with the southward detachment of the Eighth Route Army.
