It is understood that virtual synchronous generator technology is a technology that simulates the electromechanical transient characteristics of synchronous generator sets, so that the power supply with converter has the external characteristics of synchronous generator sets such as inertia and damping. This technology can change the rotation of new energy units from "fragmented" to "coordinated and unified" revolution, actively support the fluctuation of power grid frequency and voltage, and effectively ensure the safe and stable operation of power grid.
Wang Baojie, director of the Science and Technology Information and Communication Department of State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. said that since the technology was put forward in 1997, Britain, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands and other countries have been working hard to tackle key problems, but it has not been applied on a large scale. The new energy virtual synchronous motor technology demonstration project is one of the top ten technology innovation demonstration projects of State Grid Corporation of China, which lasted for two years.
"In the process of project promotion, State Grid Yubei Electric Power cooperated with China Electric Power Research Institute, Xuji Group, Nanrui Group and other units to carry out key technical research and equipment development, fully mastered the core technologies, and further consolidated China's leading position in related fields." Wang Baojie said.
Summary: At present, 59 wind turbines with capacity of 1 18 MW and 24 500 kW photovoltaic inverters with capacity of 12 MW have been reconstructed in this project, and two sets of virtual synchronizers for 5 MW power stations have been built. After it is completed and put into operation, it will effectively improve the safe and stable operation level of the power grid, provide a standard model for new energy-friendly grid connection, and have great significance for the construction of Zhangjiakou renewable energy demonstration zone and the large-scale development and utilization of clean energy in China.
