The Giant Buddha in the Central Plains stands on the land of the Central Plains, surrounded by Jade Pillow Mountain, and treats all beings with compassion, perfecting the concept of "five buddhas in five directions" in Buddhism. It is reported that the construction of the giant Buddha has gone through ten years, during which it has experienced many setbacks. Finally, with the cordial care of governments and leaders at all levels and the enthusiastic help of many Buddhists, on September 9, 2008 (the first day of the ninth lunar month), 108 monks and Dade from four places across the Taiwan Strait appeared one after another.
The Giant Buddha Scenic Area receives more than 500,000 tourists and believers a year, including Yi Changlao, President of the Chinese Buddhist Association, Master Xing Yun, the first founder of Foguang Mountain in Taiwan Province Province, Elder Jueguang, President of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association, and many Buddhists who come from Japan, Australia, South Korea, France, India, Taiwan Province Province and other countries and regions not far from Wan Li to worship the Giant Buddha.
The Central Plains Giant Buddha Scenic Area is located at the intersection of Zhengzhou and Yaoshan expressway, 50 kilometers west of Lushan County, with National Highway 3 1 1. Located in Shangtang Tourist Area, Yaoshan Scenic Area, Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. National Highway 3 1 1 runs through the whole territory of Lushan Mountain and passes in front of the Giant Buddha.
The scenic spot has convenient transportation, surrounded by mountains, beautiful scenery and beautiful environment, and is rich in tourism and cultural resources such as the world's first Buddha, the first bell, the first soup on the mainland and the first temple in Funiu Mountain area. It is a scenic spot integrating Buddhist culture, warm water bathing, sightseeing, leisure and entertainment, and is the leading scenic spot of eco-tourism in Funiu Mountain, Henan Province.
After 10 years of construction, the scenic spot has begun to take shape and its popularity is increasing day by day. It has become an important tourist attraction in southwest Henan. The scenic spot consists of memorial archway, Foquan Temple, Wishing Platform, Fuhui Avenue, Ritual Platform, Central Plains Giant Buddha, Tian Rui Auspicious Bell, Buddhist Cultural Palace, Cultural Monument Gallery and other scenic spots and supporting service facilities.
To the west are the famous national key scenic spots, national 5A-level tourist attractions and national nature reserve Yaoshan (Shiren Mountain) scenic spot, to the east is the rippling Zhaopinghu Water Park, and to the south is the mysterious Lin Biao command post.
