China Tibetology Research Center is a comprehensive Tibetan academic institution, located in Beijing, which was established on May 20th. 1986.
She devoted herself to studying Tibetan culture and the history, present situation and future development of Xizang Autonomous Region, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. She is committed to protecting and developing Tibetan culture, contacting scholars from domestic Tibetan studies institutions, promoting academic exchanges and cooperation, and prospering Tibetan studies.
The Director-General and the Deputy Director-General exercise administrative functions; Academic Committee is an academic decision-making, consulting and appraisal institution. All business departments mainly undertake academic research, personnel training, academic exchanges, information services, book publishing, cultural display, information dissemination and medical services in the form of undertaking projects.

Its main business departments are: Social and Economic Research Institute, Historical Research Institute, Religious Research Institute, Contemporary Research Institute, Tibetan Medicine Research Institute, Library and Information Library, and China Tibetan Studies Publishing House.
China Tibetology Network is the first Tibetan academic website in China. Its goal is to build the website into an information port and database for Tibetan scholars in China, build a platform for Tibetan scholars in China to exchange and cooperate, become a bridge for Tibetan research cooperation at home and abroad, and further promote the development of Tibetan research in China.
