Founded in 1974, the school is the earliest vocational school in Tongxiang. Originally "Tongxiang County Health Bureau Medical Training Course", 1979 became the first batch of health further education schools in Zhejiang Province.

Originally "Tongxiang County Health Bureau Medical Training Course", 1979 became "the first batch of health further education schools in Zhejiang Province". 1985 became "the teaching point of Jiaxing Health School", which opened a new page of full-time teaching in the school.
Since 1992, the school has seized the opportunity to recruit students for the whole province, and the scale of running a school has expanded year by year, with students from more than 60 counties and cities in Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. In 2000, the school was officially renamed Tongxiang Health School. At the end of last century, the whole vocational education generally declined due to the expansion of college enrollment and "high fever".
The secondary health schools in the whole province are in the trough of closing, stopping, merging and turning. However, school leaders led all teachers and students to take the lead, struggle to survive in the cracks, and seize the opportunity of development from adversity. After active struggle and hard work, Tongxiang comprehensive high school was established on the basis of running a school in 2002.

The school covers an area of 120275 square meters, with a building area of 72382 square meters. * * More than ten main buildings, such as teaching building, experimental building, library administration building, gymnasium, student apartment building, canteen, nursing and rehabilitation hospital, large-scale music and light fountain square, etc. There are 400-meter standard track and field, football field, basketball court, volleyball court, physical training room, art room, library and so on, with complete facilities and functions.
In 2007, it became the first national key secondary vocational school in the province, focusing on health. In 2009, the training base was rated as the first provincial demonstration health training base in the province, and the nursing specialty was rated as the first provincial demonstration nursing specialty in the province. In addition, Jiaxing has two demonstration majors: secretarial and pharmacy.
