The main reason is that her department director often sends her messages after work. Lily thinks that after work, don't leaders understand this?
For this matter, she thought about resigning countless times in her mind, but for various reasons, she never took immediate action.
So she came to me for advice, hoping to hear my opinion. To this, I gave her three suggestions.
First, there is no reason not to reply to normal work information.
For most enterprises, it is normal for leaders to send messages to subordinates after work.
For example, I used to work in an international trading company and communicate with us at night. Although the employees of the company come home from work, as long as there is an emergency on the customer's side, they are required to reply.
If the subordinates don't reply to the message, the leader will call me immediately.
For business people, whenever you want to do a good job in the company, you should reply to such a message, because it is directly related to the business cooperation between the company and customers.
If we narrowly think that the work is over, it is impossible for us to engage in this industry and gain a foothold in the company.
This is the case in the trading industry, and I think the situation is similar in many other industries.
Even if it is not because of customers, leaders need to reply if they have other work matters to communicate with you.
Second, the harassment information cannot be replied.
Other leaders like to send messages to employees, especially female subordinates, after work, not simply related to work.
For example, my cousin once met a perverted leader who always sent her messages after work to care about her life.
For example, ask her if she has gone out to play with her boyfriend, or if she is free to go out for dinner with the leader in the evening.
A married male leader, who misbehaves after work, always sends harassing text messages to female subordinates. I think this situation not only does not need to reply to his news, but also should take action to put an end to such behavior.
Some people are afraid of the authority of their superiors and will reply a few words intentionally or unintentionally, which is likely to encourage bad style and leadership, make him make wrong judgments, and intensify harassment of employees in the future.
Third, the rhythm of reply can be properly controlled.
Leadership, this kind of information may be purely professional, but the frequency is too high and the content is not urgent. Do you need a reply?
My experience is: reply. But you can control the pace of your reply.
For example, the first message from the leader was sent at 7: 00 pm. You have seen the content of the leader's message and it is not urgent to judge, so you can reply later after dinner.
On the one hand, it did not offend the leaders, but also promised to reply if there was news; On the other hand, let yourself eat with peace of mind first, and then make room to deal with the information of the leaders after dinner.
The above example is a grasp of the communication rhythm. We send information to leaders in this way, and we can also send information to customers in this way. In short, we should judge according to the priorities of things and strive to achieve a balance between work and private space.
Especially for employees with children, it is really not easy to take care of children with mobile phones.
Write it at the end
Leaders always send messages to themselves after work. Should they reply?
This seems to be a very annoying thing, but after careful analysis and thinking, we can adopt different strategies according to different types.
