In the fourth quarter, coal prices will stabilize, and then slowly pick up, but golden decade in the coal industry has passed and should not return to the previous level.
There are three factors that affect the total price of coal: 1 coal overcapacity, 2 decline in the growth rate of power demand, and 3 impact of imported coal.
Now only the third factor is changing. The international coal price has risen for three weeks in a row, but it is still lower than the domestic coal price, with little difference. Coal imports are also decreasing, and the impact on domestic coal prices is shrinking. But the first two factors have not changed. The state has been introducing policies to standardize production, and the effect of shuffling in the coal industry has not yet appeared. Due to the downward pressure of the domestic economy, the demand for electricity will not increase much in the short term.
