Su Hua Highway
Suhua Highway is a provincial highway on the east coast of Taiwan Province Province, and it is a section of the provincial highway Taijiu Line. It was built during the Japanese invasion and colonization, and it was a coastal road along the northern road of the Qing Dynasty. Opened to traffic in May 1932. After the war, it was renamed Suhua Highway. After that, new tunnels were continuously built, widened to asphalt pavement, and changed to two-way traffic in June 1990. Highway history
The history of Suhua Highway can be traced back to the 13th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1874). It took two years for Xia Xianlun, the Taoist priest of Taiwan Province, and Luo, the magistrate of Fujian Province, to open up the road of "a first-class road is one foot long and a mountain is six feet long" so that it can pass through Yuma. At that time, it was called "North Road", along which Su 'ao -(20)- Dong 'ao -(30)- Da 'nan 'ao. The total distance is 308 miles.
Before the opening of the North Road, the traffic and trade were by the sea, and the land was only the east-west aboriginal migration route and hunting road. The north road runs along the cliff, which is quite narrow and tortuous. However, under the policy of opening mountains to help the people in the Qing Dynasty, it had multiple functions, such as enhancing national prestige, preventing pirates from blocking, resettling farmland and obtaining resources. However, after the road was completed, it was still invaded by aborigines from time to time. After the war, this road was renamed "Suhua Highway". The narrowest part of the road is only 3.5 meters, and the minimum radius of the bend is only 15 meters, which is quite steep. 1980 was gradually widened until 1990.
In the early years, when the Suhua Highway was opened to traffic, vehicles from south to north should be released at various control stations according to the control regulations.
