Highway history

The history of Suhua Highway can be traced back to the 13th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1874). Before the opening of the North Road, the traffic and trade were by the sea, and the land was only the east-west aboriginal migration route and hunting road. The north road runs along the cliff, which is quite narrow and tortuous. In the early years, when the Suhua Highway was opened to traffic, vehicles from south to north should be released at various control stations according to the control regulations.
