The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electromechanical Engineering of Chung Cheng University is now Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the School of Civil Engineering of Chung Cheng University is now Hunan University, and the School of Metallurgical Engineering of Chung Cheng University is now Hunan Central South University.
The Department of Economics was established as Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Russian physical chemistry, literature and history were merged into Wuhan University, the Department of Mathematics and Biology was merged into Sun Yat-sen University, the Department of Forestry was merged into Hunan Agricultural College, and the Department of Chemical Engineering was merged into South China University of Technology.
