Crowdfunding is mainly divided into these categories according to the target and delivery method:
(1) product crowdfunding: also called return crowdfunding. As the name implies, the sponsor delivers a product after successful fundraising, which can be a physical object, a virtual commodity, an event or an activity. Generally, it is mainly small. Kickstarter is the world's largest product crowdfunding platform and the originator of crowdfunding. Indiegogo is the second largest product crowdfunding platform in the world. In addition to the all-or-nothing model, Indiegogo also supports flexible financing, that is, how much money to raise.
(2) Crowdfunding of creditor's rights: P2P, which we often talk about, is beyond the scope of this answer.
(3) Equity crowdfunding: Supporters invest money to obtain shares or income rights of the target company. Generally, the initial investment amount is large, and the number of people is generally limited to less than 200, which belongs to high-risk investment crowdfunding.
(4) Public welfare crowdfunding: crowdfunding with pure donation and no return.
