Can you become a Buddha by practicing at home?
Can you become a Buddha by practicing at home? Sure! Can become a bodhisattva, can become an arhat, can become a Buddha. So staying at home is no different from becoming a monk. What is the difference? The difference is the difference in form. What does the form mean? Indeed, the purpose of form is to help all beings get rid of their confusion and get rid of their sufferings and joys. What kind of identity do you want to use according to your personal wishes? Buddhist scriptures often teach us? Speak for people? Remember, being a man is not for yourself. Performance is performance, for people to see, to make this truth and truth clear. Is it convenient to be a monk or at home? You have to look at the seasons and karma of this era, and use whichever is convenient. At home, in the present era, it is convenient to educate all beings; Becoming a monk is convenient for this era to live in Buddhism for a long time. These two things are equally important. Master Yin Guang became a monk, while Xia Lianju, Yang Renshan and my teacher Li Bingnan, an old layman, became monks. They are all bodhisattvas, not ordinary people! I've been with Mr. Li for ten years, and everything Mr. Li says and does is beyond the reach of ordinary monks. He did everything the Buddha said in the scriptures, but he couldn't get out of his heart. He really gave up the enjoyment of fame and fortune, five desires and six dusts. He works very hard, earns a good income and leads an ascetic life. His old man eats once a day all his life. I learned it from him at that time. I studied for five years. In the early years, I ate every day for five years; Generally speaking, lunch is held until noon, and this meal is broken at night. I used to have fifteen years. After I met curator Han, she took good care of me and insisted on eating three meals. I was afraid that she was in poor health and others would scold her for not caring for the mage, so I cooked three meals for this reason. I tell you, that's the weight of a meal. Because I used to eat three bowls of rice at a time, now I eat three bowls of rice at a time, and the amount is still the same, just eat three times. Recently, I thought it was still very troublesome, so I cut off the dinner again, which was very comfortable. My teacher ate once a day all her life and died at the age of 97. He really wants to let go. This should be realized.
