Yitong Manchu Autonomous County belongs to Siping City, Jilin Province, and is the only Manchu Autonomous County in Jilin Province. Yitong is a transliteration of Manchu language, which comes from the name of Yitong River, meaning "majestic and turbulent river".
Yitong Manchu Autonomous County is located in the middle of Jilin Province, in the upper reaches of Yitong River, south of the provincial capital Changchun, bordering Shuangyang District of Changchun in the east, panshi city in the southeast, Dongfeng and Dongliao counties in the south, Lishu County in the southwest, Gongzhuling City in the southwest and the suburbs of Changchun in the north.
