Teacher Wang Xiaochun's definition of smart people is too classic: smart people are actually good at thinking, and they often have good ways of thinking. The way of thinking is too important for our teacher. So after reading this book, I also thought about it. Combining with my own education and teaching, I have refined some of my own teaching ideas:
First, the essence of education is not management, but help and communication.
Indeed, under the current school system, it is impossible without management. The question is what kind of management we need, how much, where to manage, where to be strict, where to be broad, where to manage and where not to manage. It is mentioned in the book that a veritable educator should be most concerned about the development of students themselves, but managers are not. Managers are most concerned about completing the tasks assigned by their superiors. Educators are people-oriented, managers are task-oriented, and managers only regard people as tools to complete tasks. The fundamental purpose of education is not to control students, but to help students learn to control themselves. The most reliable way is not to let students satisfy me immediately, but to let students really grow up. Education must go deep into children's souls. We talk about "cultivating good behavior habits" every day. We often manage students in all aspects from the system according to the Code of Daily Conduct for Primary School Students, but we don't always get what we want (for example, some naughty students in my class are like this, they behave well in front of me, but once they leave my sight, they will be unconscious, which may be caused by my strict management at ordinary times). Then, should we reflect, should we be more of a warm educator or a strict manager?
Second, be a smart "strict teacher" and show "teacher love" rationally.
After reading this book, I will use my brain to deal with students who violate discipline. Usually students make some mistakes, and I will definitely leave them to criticize after class. But now I think that one of the misunderstandings mentioned by Mr. Wang in his book is "superstition and strict requirements for teachers". I remind myself to be "smarter", so I make up for it by letting students do good deeds, so that they can know their mistakes and get education in the process of doing good deeds. Later, as long as I met students who committed crimes, I used this method, and the effect was better.
Teacher Wang Xiaochun also repeatedly stressed that love is the soul of teachers' morality, and there is no education without love. "Love and responsibility" are the soul of contemporary teachers, and "teacher love" is the necessity of teachers' morality. But Mr. Wang also pointed out that we should not be superstitious about "teacher love". He said that there are two superstitions about "teacher's love": one is a kind-hearted fool, really. He thinks that love can turn stone into gold, and love is a panacea. Once he can't "love" his students into good students, he will doubt that he doesn't love them enough. The other kind of person is not. They actually use love as a stick. Their skill is to interpret all the pressure they give students as "love". They talk about "love" and think about "power" in their hearts, which is to "control, block and oppress" students. Teacher Wang pointed out that cheap "love carols" are popular in education. In reality, there are indeed teachers who just want to "love their jobs and be dedicated", but they have encountered difficulties in practice. We can't ask teachers to complete tasks that don't belong to us with love, just as we can't ask doctors to cure patients with love alone. Therefore, it is impossible without love, and love alone is not enough. Love is not accommodation, love needs reason.
3. Which is more important, safety or moral education?
In the book, Teacher Wang talked about safety when analyzing the relationship between management and education. He said that safety is important, but if safety trumps education, schools will no longer be schools, but become insurance companies. All school management measures should be for the development of students, not just for the convenience of managers.
Nowadays, safety seems to be the core issue of a school. Most schools will do some things: they are not allowed to run around the campus, they are not allowed to throw light objects, and sometimes they will severely reprimand some students, perhaps giving them to the class teacher, but the children's lively and playful nature is suppressed. How to grasp this degree? The security problem has also become a stumbling block that restricts the development of moral education activities in schools, weakens the function of moral education and restricts the physical and mental development of students. The development of moral education depends on various practical activities, and colorful practical activities are the core and carrier of moral education.
Finally, I want to sum up my current teaching view with a sentence in the book. "I am a light-footed walker. On the way to education, I am smiling and my heart is full of sunshine. My schoolbag has prepared everything for education: surging enthusiasm, tolerant mind, charming brain for reading and thinking. " In my future teaching career, I should be more strict with myself.
