On August 17, 2009, the Ministry of Railways and the Shandong Provincial Government formally wrote and jointly approved the Christina Railway Project Proposal, which marked a major breakthrough in Pingdu Railway Project. Christina Railway, also known as Pingdu Blue (Village) Railway, officially entered the feasibility study stage.
