However, the parties need to be over 30 years old and apply for adoption at the local civil affairs department with ID card, household registration book, marriage certificate and income certificate.
If a single man adopts a girl, it is stipulated that both parties must be over 40 years old to apply for an adoption certificate.
To be a volunteer, the parties concerned can go to the local civil affairs department with their ID cards to explain the situation and go through the relevant procedures.
Adoption law stipulates:
Article 6 An adopter shall meet the following conditions:
Childless;
Have the ability to raise and educate the adoptee;
Not suffering from diseases that are medically considered unsuitable for adopting children;
At least 30 years old.
Article 8 An adopter can only adopt one child.
The adoption of orphans, disabled children who can't find their biological parents, abandoned babies or children raised by social welfare institutions can be exempted from the restriction that the adopter has no children to adopt one.
Article 9 If a man without a spouse adopts a woman, the age difference between the adopter and the adoptee shall be over 40 years old.
