The complete expression of "lion bug" is "the lion (teacher) eats the meat of the lion (teacher)", which is used by the Buddha to explain the Buddha's teachings in many scriptures. If others can't destroy it, the evil monk will destroy it himself.
According to the Lotus Face Sutra, after the Buddha's nirvana, evil monks appeared in the world, corrupting Buddhism, and making Ananda Venerable aware of all kinds of illegal behaviors in the future world with magical power. Among them, there are monks who break various precepts, monks who live by bad lives without breaking precepts, monks who don't believe in Buddhism, monks who destroy the Twelve Classics, monks who take pleasure in writing articles and decorating words, and so on.
For these evil monks and their evil deeds, the Buddha gave a metaphor of "lion worm" to vividly illustrate:
"Ananda, for example, if Master lives a unique life, if it is empty, if it is land, if it is water, if it is land, all living beings dare not eat Master's meat. It's just that teachers and students are born with worms and eat their own meat. Ananda, my Buddhism is not bad. It is the Buddhism in which all the evil monks in my Buddhism are like stingers, breaking the painstaking efforts of my three monks. "
In addition, the Buddha said that the Benevolent King Prajna Paramita Sutra said, "Your Majesty! After I was destroyed, the four disciples of the future world, Xiao Wanggong, were the abbots who protected the three treasures, and they even destroyed them. If you are a worm in your master's body, you will eat your master's son, so you are not an outsider. How bad my Buddhism is, I am guilty. The orthodox religion is weak, and the people are not upright. They gradually become evil and their life expectancy is shortened. As for centenarians. People are not good at Buddhism, have no dutiful son, six parents are not harmonious, the gods are not blessed, diseases and evil spirits invade every day, disasters come out of their mouths, even disasters come out of their mouths, die in hell, hungry ghosts and animals. If they are human beings, soldiers and slaves will be rewarded, such as responding; Just like a book written at night, the fire put out the words. The result of the three realms is the same. "
The book of great treasures says, "Ye Jia! Many evils, many monks are not good for my Buddha. Ye Jia! Not 95 kinds of heretics can destroy my Buddhism, nor can other heretics destroy my Buddhism, except all the idiots in my Buddhism. This idiot can violate my laws. Ye Jia! For example, when the king of beasts dies, tigers, wolves, birds and beasts can't eat their meat. Ye Jia! Teachers and students are born with worms and eat their meat. "
The Sanskrit says: "If the Buddha learns to support himself in the name of becoming a monk with kindness, he will say the Seven Commandments in front of Wang Guan, associating himself with monks, monks and bodhisattvas, such as' Disciples are worms in their bodies, they will eat their own flesh, and only outsiders can break them'. "
The Buddha used the metaphor of "the lion eats the lion's meat" to profoundly predict the chaos of evil monks and laws after the demise of the Buddha, and also to remind later Buddhists to be careful to protect Buddhism and not to be a sinner wearing a robe and breaking laws.
In the Buddhist Sutra of Extinction, Nirvana Sutra and so on. The Buddha elaborated on all kinds of detailed scenes of evil monks eating lion meat like "lion worms" and destroying Buddha after nirvana.
According to the Buddhist Sutra of Extinction, this kind of bad Buddhist monk is often a "magic shaman, which is bad for my way". Jing Yun:
"When I want to destroy the law after nirvana, the magic way of Five Inverse Turbid Times will flourish. The magic shaman messed up my way, dressed in vulgar clothes and enjoying the colorful robes; Drinking, eating meat, killing, gluttony; Without compassion, we are more jealous.
"From time to time, there are bodhisattvas, Buddhists and arhats. Read well and treat them with respect. People are educated to be equal-pity the poor, miss the old and bow to the poor. Persevere in serving people and make all kinds of merits; Be kind and do no harm to others; If you do harm to your body and things, don't cherish yourself, bear the burden of humiliation and show utmost forbearance. There was a man who all the demons envied, slandered and preached evil, and refusing to drive him away could not keep him alive.
"Since * * * doesn't cultivate morality in later generations, the temple is empty without being repaired and then destroyed; However, if you are greedy for money, you will be unlucky to accumulate it. Selling handmaiden, planting, burning forest, hurting all beings, heartless. A slave is a monk, and a servant is a monk. Without virtue and fornication, there is no difference between men and women, which makes the Tao thin and light from generation to generation.
"Or according to my way to avoid the county magistrate, and to be a shaman, out of control. Although I finished reciting my name in half a month, I'm tired of being lazy and don't want to hear it. I won't talk about it after copying it. I haven't finished reciting, and there are words that the reader doesn't know. This is a strong sentence. Don't consult the Ming Dynasty, seek fame, be proud of its elegant steps, and hope that others will support you. "
The Great Nirvana Sutra also mentions the evil karma of "the evil shaman is in disorder". The Buddha told the venerable Ye Jia, "After I was 700 years old, the magic wave gradually deteriorated and disturbed me. This is the right way. For example, hunters wear vestments, and Papman, the demon king, also wears vestments to make statues of monks, bhikkhuni, Youposai and Youpoyi, and even become bearded bodies and even arhats and buddhas. The devil takes this leaky shape as a leakless body, which is not good for my Buddhism. "
In the Buddhist scriptures, special emphasis is placed on the evil image of becoming a shaman through various heresies and making all beings enter Jaken. The Buddha said to the venerable Sharifutsu, "The Tathagata has three treasures in the world. When I am finished, I will divide them into five parts. Sharifutsu, the devil is still invisible today. He helped me get the Tao and cut me off as a Dharma monk. The great wisdom of the Tathagata is sophisticated now, and evil spirits can't be its great evil. When the devil came to the world, he became a shaman, a monk and various heresies. Let many sentient beings enter Jaken to say evil laws. "
In the book "The Buddha said that he would change the Buddhism in the future", the Buddha listed in detail 15 kinds of evil things that destroyed the Buddhism after the Buddha destroyed it. Among them, five kinds of things specifically talked about the cause of the destruction of the Buddhism due to the insight of the Saman into Buddhism and the obsession with heresy:
"First, there may be a monk who became a monk in accordance with the law and abandoned the twelve karma and thirty-seven products of deep teaching, thus realizing profound and mysterious wisdom, infinite wisdom, convenient kindness and empty desire.
"Second, the anti-learning miscellaneous sentences are shallow and small, and the secular line is like this. The classic of the king, the origin of chaos, is good at talking about this industry, which is easy to understand and interesting enough to win people's hearts and make them happy because it is famous.
"Third, the news legal person is simple and quick; It is better not to use it for advanced people.
"fourth, the dragon is not happy, but worried, saying,' Dafa is going to die, so let it go.' Give up the magic method and announce miscellaneous sentences. Tears from heaven will soon pass.
"Five, because a little disappointed with the doctrine, there is no intensive. It is for these five things that the law was destroyed. "
The weakening, distortion and dissolution of the concept of rights are the manifestations of the destruction of the law of rights. With the Mahayana classics and even the Twelve Classics being gradually destroyed in Buddhist scriptures: "The first Shurangama Sutra and Samadhi as a Boat were destroyed first, and the Twelve Classics were discovered and then destroyed, and never appeared again. Without seeing the words, the shaman naturally turned white. "
The Buddha made it very clear that heresy is not enough to destroy the dharma. What can really destroy the dharma is that the devil wears a bhikkhu dress to make a bhikkhu shape, goes deep into the monk group, and breaks the precepts. See the Twelve Classics of Sanzang.
Therefore, Xu Yun, an old monk, quoted an old saying in China to illustrate the truth that "lion worms eat lion meat": "As the saying goes, scholars are sinners of Confucius and monks are sinners of Buddhism. At first, I thought it was true, but now, looking at the phenomenon of the last law, I know that the six countries also died, not Qin. Qin is also a Qin family, not the world. It is monks and disciples who destroy Buddhism, not pagans. " Isn't this the same as the Buddha's, expressing the greatest grief and indignation at the evil image of the "lion worm" and the most compassionate vigilance and advice to the public?
Of course, the "lion-worm" chaos (especially the last days of Buddhism) means that Buddhism can only go downhill, and Buddhism can only be completely destroyed?
Seven Dreams of Ananda records that Ananda had seven kinds of nightmares when he was in slava. The seventh is "Wang Minghuasa, the son of a dreamer, who had seven hairs on his head and died on the ground. All the animals were scared when they saw it, and then they saw insects coming out of their bodies and eating it. " The venerable man holds a dream and asks Buddha. For the seventh nightmare, the Buddha explained: "The seventh dream is the death of the teacher. /kloc-at the age of 0/470, after the death of the Buddha, in the heart of my disciple Xiu De, all demons must not be chaotic; Seven cents, seven hundred years old. "
The Buddha not only said that "a lion is a worm and eats its flesh", but also taught future generations that "disciple Xiu De's mind cannot be disturbed by all kinds of demons". I can't help but think of Lao Xu's high hopes for the future of later literati and Buddhism when he talked about the decline of monks and nuns in the last law: "Yun Lao! Can't help. I only hope that a righteous Sangha will turn the tide and Buddhism will not die. "
