Many jobs in the future finance are front-end jobs, such as consultants in the consulting industry and PE/VC in the financial industry. These jobs require strong communication and leadership skills, and students' oral English and cultural integration. But our students in China are not dominant in these aspects. So basically going to school is purely financial, and most students can only go back to China to find jobs after graduation.
Quantitative finance attaches great importance to students' quantitative abilities such as mathematical modeling and programming. You don't need to communicate in many languages. As long as your skills are hard enough, you can find a job in the middle and back office of finance. And the ability of mathematical modeling and programming is exactly what we China students are very good at. Therefore, our students can find good jobs in the United States as long as they graduate from a school with good school background and strong technology.
