"The First Needle in the World" was jointly filmed by the Propaganda Department of Bozhou Municipal Committee and CCTV Film Channel. The film started in Hengdian Studios on February 20th, 20 13 and ended on February 20th, 20 14 10.
The film tells the legendary story of Wang, a doctor in the Northern Song Dynasty, a famous acupuncturist in China and an acupuncturist before the Song Dynasty, who tried to cast a bronze statue of acupuncture. Wang married a talented woman from Bozhou (Mrs. Wang in the play). As the son-in-law of Bozhou, she often goes back to Bozhou to visit relatives, and has a deep understanding of Bozhou's regional culture, especially Hua Tuo's acupuncture medical thought. When Wang was dismissed by Hanlin Medical College, she was exhausted and desperate, and returned to Bozhou with her wife to pay homage to Hua Tuo, from which she was inspired, found motivation from numerous failures, and finally succeeded in creating a bronze man and set a new milestone in the history of acupuncture.
