Provincial examination is the abbreviation of provincial civil service examination. The four-level recruitment of provinces, cities, counties and townships is arranged by the provincial authorities in a unified way, and the preparation is subordinate to each province. The scope of provincial examination also includes four municipalities directly under the central government, such as Beijing, five autonomous regions, such as Inner Mongolia, and city examinations organized by individual cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The written test time varies from province to province. Most provinces take the provincial entrance examination in the middle and late April of each year, and some provinces and cities organize the examination separately, such as Beijing and Shanghai at the end of each year and Jiangsu in March.

The difference between national examination and provincial examination;

One: the competent departments are different.

The competent departments of the national examination are the Central Organization Department, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Civil Service Bureau; The competent departments of the provincial examination are the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Provincial Civil Service Bureau.

Two: the recruitment unit is different.

National examination recruiting units include the central party and mass organs, institutions directly under the state administrative organs and agencies, and public participation management institutions of the State Council system; Recruiting units for provincial examinations include party and mass organs, administrative organs, agencies directly under administrative organs and agencies, and public participation management institutions in all provinces and cities.

Three: the candidates are different.

National Examination: The national examination is for the whole country, and there are almost no household registration restrictions (but in recent years, due to the high turnover rate of grassroots civil servants in hard and remote areas, there may be household registration restrictions in these areas, so candidates should pay attention when applying for the exam);

Provincial examination: some provinces and cities have household registration restrictions, but from the current development, the provincial examination is more and more similar to the national examination, and the household registration restrictions are gradually abolished. However, at the same time, the provincial examinations for civil servants and the examinations for provincial authorities are concentrated on one-day examinations, which ensures the stability of employers' personnel.

Four: The examination time is different.

The general national examination time is about 1 1 month ago and will last for more than half a year until it is announced in May next year. Provincial examinations are generally recruited in the spring of that year, and they can be hired in late summer and early autumn, and the time span is slightly shorter than that of national examinations.

Five: the written test location is different.

Candidates in the national examination are free to choose any examination area in the country, and candidates in the provincial examination need to choose the examination area in the province where they are recruited.
