The following cases are exceptions to the principle of confidentiality:
(1) When the counselor finds that the visitor is in serious danger of hurting himself or others.
(2) When the visitor suffers from a fatal infectious disease that may endanger others.
(3) When minors are sexually assaulted or abused.
(4) When disclosure is required by law.
3. In case of the above (1), (2) and (3), the psychological counselor has the responsibility to warn the legal guardian of the other party; In the case of (4), the counselor has the obligation to act according to law.
However, the court and relevant personnel are required to produce legal written requirements, and the court and relevant personnel are required to ensure that such disclosure will not bring direct harm or potential harm to clinical professional relations.
4. Psychological counselors can only record, video or demonstrate the psychological consultation process with the written consent of the visitors.
5. Information related to the counseling work of psychological counselors (including case records, test materials, letters, audio and video recordings, etc.) belongs to professional information and should be kept strictly confidential. Only authorized counselors can access this information.
6. In psychological counseling, once visitors are found to be harmful to themselves and others, they must start a crisis intervention plan to prevent accidents. If you consult other psychological counselors, you should limit the exposure of confidential information to a minimum.
Informed consent principle
Informed consent includes three basic elements, namely, notification, voluntariness and ability. Informing means that the counselor has the obligation and responsibility to inform the visitor of the following information: characteristics, nature, expected course of treatment, cost, confidentiality scope, etc. before the visitor makes informed consent. If the visitor gives informed consent without being fully informed, it will be regarded as invalid consent in law.
Voluntary means that in the process of making informed consent, visitors are not tempted or coerced by the outside world, and their decisions are voluntary and independent; Ability means that visitors, as the legal subject of informed consent, should have the ability required by law.

Psychological counselors need to inform visitors of the characteristics, nature, expected course of treatment, cost and confidential scope of counseling at the initial stage of establishing counseling relationship, and provide them with sufficient opportunities to ask questions and answer their questions.
We should discuss the consulting objectives with the visitors and reach an agreement. When using the therapy technology that has not been widely recognized, psychological counselors need to inform each other of the development status and possible potential risks of the counseling technology.
3. As part of the informed consent procedure, it is necessary to inform the visitor that the consultant who provides services to the visitor is in the training stage and its supervisor bears relevant legal responsibilities.
Visitors have the right to terminate the consultation or change the consultant at any time.
5. If the visitor has no legal responsibility to make a decision, but psychological consultation is necessary, the guardian can be asked to take the form of "substitute consent".
