Since the first phase berth of Yangshan Port was officially opened on June 5438+February 10, 2005, it has set a record for ship hours and platform hours in full accordance with the operation and management of mature terminals.

Gui Mo, commander of the Port Sub-Command of Yangshan Deepwater Port Construction Command, said that in 2006, the throughput of the first phase of Yangshan Deepwater Port exceeded 3 million containers, and with the existing berth capacity of Shanghai Port, it is estimated that the container throughput of Hong Kong will reach 265.438 million containers, which is close to Singapore and Hong Kong, which rank first and second in the world.
Yangshan Deepwater Port Area is the only maritime container terminal built on an offshore island in the world, creating a new continent with an area of 6,543,800 square meters (equivalent to the size of 200 standard football fields) and an altitude of 7 meters from the deep sea. Piling on the seabed as deep as 39 meters is not only unprecedented in the history of China port construction, but also a world-class problem. The builders of Yangshan Port creatively adopted the "pile-sheet-pile-cap structure with sloping roof", successfully built closely-spaced pile walls, and formed a solid revetment of Yangshan Port.
Donghai Bridge, located between the land and Xiaoyangshan, is the first sea-crossing bridge in China, and it is also the first time that China has set the design reference period as 100. As an important part of Yangshan Port, Donghai Bridge took only 35 months from laying the first pile to connecting the whole line.
It took 10 years for Yangshan Port to be completed and opened. More than 7,000 researchers started 20 brand-new scientific research projects. Up to now, more than 50 technological achievements of Yangshan Deepwater Port Project have been patented.
Yangshan Port is also the first bonded port approved by China. Yangshan Bonded Port Area implements the integration of export processing zone, bonded zone and port area. People in the economic circles believe that the bonded port area will become a place where domestic and foreign economies are in line, which is of great significance for promoting the development of import and export trade, entrepot trade and export processing industry in the Yangtze River Delta, the Yangtze River Basin and even the whole country, and will further enhance the competitiveness of Shanghai International Shipping Center and become a new growth point for China's economic development.
After the opening of the first phase of Yangshan Port, the second phase of Yangshan Port is also under construction. The total coastline of the second phase project is 1.400 meters, and the land area is about 700,000 square meters. Four deep-water berths will be built with an annual throughput of 2.5 million TEUs, which are expected to be completed by the end of 2006. After the completion of the second phase project of Yangshan Port, the joint venture mode will be adopted. Five Chinese and foreign shipping giants, including Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd., Hutchison Whampoa, A.P. Muller Maersk Group, China Ocean Shipping Group and China Shipping Group, jointly invested and established a joint venture company to participate in the investment and operation of Yangshan Phase II.
According to the plan, by 20 12, a deep-water coastline of 1 1 km can be formed on the Xiaoyangshan side of Beigang Port Area, and nearly 30 berths will be arranged, with the annual container handling capacity exceeding150,000 TEUs. Industry experts predict that the completion and operation of Yangshan Deepwater Port will greatly enhance China's comprehensive economic strength.
