Comrade Wang Shuming is an engineer in Changchun Communication Branch of China Network Communication Group Company. 1September, 982, paraplegia due to accident. With tenacious will and extraordinary achievements, Comrade Wang Shuming wrote party member's dedication song in the new period, which is a vivid example of consciously practicing Theory of Three Represents.
Comrade Wang Shuming was successively rated as a model worker in the provincial post and telecommunications system, a model worker in the national post and telecommunications system service, a model worker in the city and a model worker in the province. Jilin Provincial Committee rated it as one of the top ten pacesetters in party member and an outstanding producer in party member. He is also one of the top ten service pacesetters of China Telecom Group and an advanced producer of China Netcom Group. I am an ordinary party member. 1953 September 19, I was born in an ordinary worker's family in Antu county. 1973. After graduation, I was assigned to Changchun Communication Branch (formerly Changchun Telecommunication Bureau) South Square Maintenance Station as a mechanic. 198 1 year, I married Tian Ling, who also worked in the telecommunications bureau. 1982 is a major turning point in my life. From then on, I got into this wheelchair, fought against bad luck for more than 7,000 days and nights with firm ideals and beliefs, practiced Theory of Three Represents Theory with practical actions, and walked out of a special life track with the power of example.
Fight against bad luck and be a strong man in life.
1September, 982, I went home to turn over the house for my parents, and the gable suddenly collapsed, and I was seriously injured. He was sent back to Changchun by his family because of the poor conditions in the county hospital. At that time, because the train was late, the orthopedic bed reserved in the Third Hospital of Medical University had been occupied, so my family had no choice but to carry me home. Later, with the help of relatives, friends and unit leaders, I was admitted to the 208 Hospital. However, there was no paraplegia specialist in 208 Hospital, and I was delayed there for seven days. On the eighth day after my injury, I was admitted to the orthopedic ward of the Third Hospital of Medical University. After examination, I have four fractures, the most serious of which is the dislocation after the second lumbar fracture. The injury is very serious. I need an operation at once. As a result of hospitalization, the big bag supported by back fracture has broken skin, causing bedsore. In order to avoid infection, the hospital delayed the operation for a week until the fourth day, thus missing the best opportunity for the operation. Fate mercilessly sentenced me to lifelong paraplegia.
The operation lasted more than four hours. Deviation of neural tube was found during operation. In order to fix the lumbar spine, the doctor screwed two stainless steel plates and screws more than ten centimeters long on my lumbar spine.
In the hospital bed, I endured unbearable bedsore pain and helpless mental torture. My heart is full of pain, anxiety, boredom, anxiety and depression. I once thought about death, I once thought about cutting off the dust. Just when I was so desperate that I even wanted to give up cooperating with the treatment, the people around me gave me the courage to live.
My father-in-law is an old cadre. Knowing the news of my paraplegia, the old man walked up and down the corridor like an arrow, smoking dozens of cigarettes in a row, and his black hair turned into white hair overnight. After waking up, the old man went to the bed, took my hand and said in a trembling voice, "Don't think too much, son. Tian Ling won't leave you. Our whole family will try their best to help you." During that time, my lover, Comrade Tian Ling, waited in front of my bed day and night, fetching water to feed medicine, serving me to eat, emptying the bedpan for me and helping me turn over every two hours. Her eyes are red and her body is thin. She is sleepy every day. The comrades in the station go to the hospital for nursing in shifts. Some brought their own stewed chicken soup, some brought delicious pickles, some brought books and newspapers, and some chatted with me. The leaders of provincial and municipal bureaus come to visit me regularly to encourage me to live strong. The care of comrades, relatives and leaders gave me the courage to live.
But what really aroused the hope of life was that I read the story of Zhang Haidi in Workers' Daily. After that, I began to seek new ways. My wife also lent me How Steel was Tempered and The Story of Lei Feng. In order to sit up and return to work as soon as possible, I started a hard exercise. Riding in a wheelchair requires enough waist strength and arm strength, so I get up at 4 o'clock every morning to exercise. I supported my heavy body with my hands and moved up and down. My hips are worn out, my legs are swollen, my arms are tired, and my hands are soaked with blood. But I still stubbornly persisted in exercising, and my efforts paid off. Finally, I can move in a wheelchair.
Work hard and climb the peak of science and technology bravely
After leaving the hospital, I asked the company leaders to take part in the work many times, but they didn't agree to my request. My wife and I persuaded the doctor to give me a diagnosis that I could do light work. The company couldn't stand my repeated entreaties, and then considering my mobility inconvenience, it arranged for me to be on duty in the computer room, and made a room next to the computer room for me and my wife to live in. This job is not a hard job for ordinary people, but for me, it has many unexpected difficulties and unbearable pain. When I first started on duty, I peed my pants several times because of urinary incontinence. Restrain yourself from drinking water and fruit during the day, and even refuse to drink more soup when eating. It's just a little effort for normal people to pick up the screws that fell to the ground, but it's more difficult for me than heaven. The 2m-21.2m-high frame is broken, and others can change the machine tray on tiptoe, but I can only rely on the support of my hands to move my body to the armrest of the wheelchair, sit down and reach for the machine tray. The center of gravity shifts, and the balance of the body is not easy to master. If you are not careful, you will knock over your chair. Several times when I was climbing a mountain to repair obstacles, I fell to the ground in a wheelchair, my leg was bruised, my ankle was sprained and my hand was broken. I got up from the ground again and again, but I fell heavily again and again. Every time, I gritted my teeth, endured the pain, moved my body a little, and sat in the wheelchair again with my strong perseverance and weak arms.
According to the original workload quota, the 12 rack equipment in my computer room should be maintained by three people, so I take the initiative to ask one person to bear it. In the past 20 years, I have carefully maintained every equipment, every machine panel and every line, solved every problem of the equipment in time, and never affected the call because of the untimely handling.
In order to enrich my knowledge of communication theory as soon as possible, improve my technical level and undertake more work, I subscribed to more than ten kinds of newspapers and magazines in communication at my own expense and studied hard. In the past 20 years, I have presided over and participated in nearly 100 technological innovations, among which the "new relay bell flow equipment" and the "constant current charging device of carrier telephone nickel battery" I developed have filled two domestic gaps, and the "telephone crosstalk broadcasting filter" I developed has solved the problem that has long plagued users. At that time, Changchun Daily, Jilin Daily and People's Posts and Telecommunications reported this news one after another, and my achievement won the second prize of Jilin Post and Telecommunications Business Technology Experience Exhibition Competition. I often write my research results into papers and publish them in newspapers and periodicals, such as "Emergency Repair of Key Phones" and "How to Solve the Problem of Telephone Serial Broadcasting", all of which have been published in the journals of the post and telecommunications system. However, every technological innovation I have made is not easy, and I have to pay a great price. For example, in the process of developing "25-week relay bell generator", I need to assemble it with a core transformer weighing 10 kilograms. I could only put it on my severely atrophied leg for a few hours, and it was black and blue and swollen, which made me unbearable, but I still worked hard for more than three months. Finally, for another example, when I was studying and solving the problem of continuous telephone broadcasting, I often ran around on the ice and snow road in the cold in order to obtain first-hand information. Visited dozens of users and inspected more than ten kilometers of lines. Because of overwork, my feet were swollen and I couldn't wear shoes, so I asked my lover to buy shoes two sizes bigger.
Serving users is my greatest happiness.
Like many communication employees, I can't avoid frequent contact with users in my work. I secretly remembered some users' complaints that the phone was broken and there was no place to repair it. I silently bought books and accessories about telephone maintenance and started a business of voluntary telephone maintenance. Repairing telephones for users is not only free, but also of good quality and enthusiastic service. No matter who they are, they are responsive and get rid of the disease. After a long time, I volunteered to repair the phone, which can be said to be a minor celebrity. Not only many users in the city come to me to repair their mobile phones, but also users in other places and counties come to me to repair their mobile phones. Under normal circumstances, I have to repair several or more phones every day, and at most I have repaired more than 30 phones a day. I repair the phone for users, whether it is day or night, whether it is laid-off workers or disabled people, no matter what kind of difficult problems, as long as I am found, I will serve enthusiastically and cure the disease.

I said that afterwards, Dr. Yang sent me a thank-you letter, and personally went to the bookstore to buy a copy of Lei Feng Diary for me, and wrote on the title page: "I wish Lei Feng in a wheelchair a safe life."
In the past 20 years, I have repaired more than 70,000 telephones and more than 4,000 other electrical appliances for users. If I pay the bill, I can earn at least 10 to 800 thousand. He has adopted two children successively, and has repeatedly sponsored children who are out of school and welfare undertakings. I bought telephone parts with my own money. This year, "SARS" raged, and I used my savings to buy more than 2,000 yuan of IC cards and walkman for front-line medical staff. In terms of money, we don't have more savings, but what I have gained is more valuable affection with users than money.
Communicate with young people and be a practitioner of advanced culture.
Some people say that people in the 2 1 century must have three basic skills: computer, foreign language and car driving. I don't think I can be a white hat either. I must learn foreign languages and computers. As for the car, I can only use a wheelchair instead of a car. However, I think I can still do the best in the other two. I use my spare time to learn grammar by memorizing words, read computer principles and operate on the computer. I have tried everything from pinyin input to Wu Bi font. If I don't understand, I'll ask someone else. The young people around me are all my mentors. Many young people who have just left the university in Changchun Branch have heard that I study foreign languages and computers, and they all called to ask if they need help and expressed their willingness to be my teaching teacher. With my continuous efforts and the enthusiastic help of my comrades, I have been able to type and surf the Internet with the computer, and I will also use the computer to edit the Rainbow Tabloid founded by our Changchun Kuancheng Disabled Persons' Federation. The 16 technical business backbone I trained has successively taken up important technical posts, and two activists I trained who requested to join the Party have been approved as the official party member of China. I also formed a mutual aid pair with the salesperson of Qingdao Road Business Hall. They often come to see me and exchange jobs and services with me. They also set up a youth volunteer association to help the disabled, the weak and the poor, and solve problems for users. This business hall has become a "civilized post for women" in the city and a "civilized window demonstration point" in the province. He is often invited to give lectures in enterprises, institutions and universities, and communicate with all walks of life and young students. In fact, in the process of every report, I was infected by their fiery enthusiasm and shocked by their unremitting pursuit.
For more than 20 years, I have been rated as a model of "four modernizations" service, an advanced worker in the provincial bureau, and an advanced individual who put forward reasonable suggestions in the province's post and telecommunications system. He was awarded second-class merit twice by Changchun Telecommunications Bureau and was promoted to engineer. After the National Congress of the Disabled, Netcom Group held a video conference to let me speak at the conference. After returning to Changchun, our company held a general meeting and asked me to make a grand report. The Municipal Enterprise Working Committee held a symposium and the Municipal Party Committee held a report meeting, and various reports were waiting for me. Major news media have also interviewed me, and Jilin Communication Company has also organized a city tour report. I was warmly received by party organizations at all levels. Many good friends are teasing me and saying: Now your popularity is high! Yes, more people know me, but my pressure is even greater. Recently, more people called me and asked me for technical information and asked me to repair my mobile phone ... but I have never felt so full and satisfied. This is a good opportunity for me to serve the users. I will live up to the love of the Party and the people, and strive to practice Theory of Three Represents with practical actions to make our today better and better.
