The casting of Wu Ding, the mother of Shang Dynasty, fully shows that the bronze casting in the late Shang Dynasty is not only large-scale, but also well-organized and meticulous in division of labor, which is enough to represent the highly developed bronze culture of Shang Dynasty.
The words "Simuwu" are cast on the inner wall of the tripod. "Sacrifice" means sacrifice, and "Mother Wu" is the mother's temple name. From the meaning of these three words, we can see that this generous tripod is a sacrificial vessel cast by King Wen Ding to sacrifice his mother.

The tripod weighs 832.84 kilograms, is 1.33 meters high, has a mouth length of 1. 10 meters, has a wall thickness of 0.06 meters, has vertical ears, is rectangular, and has four hollow columns. The decorative pattern is based on Yun Leiwen, and the outside of the ear is decorated with a pair of tiger patterns. The tiger's mouth is facing each other, and the head of one of them seems to have been swallowed by the tiger. The belly and the top and bottom of the tripod are decorated with boxes made of kuiwen. The boxes are opposite, separated by short leaves, and are fully decorated with three-stringed animal faces.
There is an inscription on the abdominal wall "Simuwe". Scientists analyzed that the cauldron was assembled by 2/kloc-0 pieces of pottery model through the core. The ears are cast first and then the tripod is embedded, and the rest of the tripod body is cast at one time. This is a miracle in itself. This shows that the bronze casting technology of Shang Dynasty has reached a quite high level.
