The power supply in Macau began at 1906. During the 60 years from 1906 to 1972, the power industry in Macau was managed by the head office established in Hong Kong, and was changed to "Macau Power Company Limited" at 1972. 1978, Australia Electric began to build the Luhuandao Power Plant at the southernmost Luhuandao. In the first phase, two coal-fired condensing generator sets were installed, with 20,000 kilowatts and * * * 40,000 kilowatts respectively. 198 1 year, with the support of Macao authorities, the company improved the power generation and transmission system and gradually became formal economically and technically. On the other hand, in order to meet the urgent need of emergency power station construction, Macau Power Station was built in Macau Peninsula on 1983, and four medium-speed four-stroke diesel generator sets with a capacity of 32,000 kilowatts were installed. By June 1984, Guangdong Electric Power Company began to supply power to Macao, and Macao Power Grid began to become a part of China Southern Power Grid, which improved the reliability and flexibility of power supply in Macao. So far, Australia Power has owned three major power sources: Luhuan Power Plant, Macau Power Plant and Guangdong Power Supply, and the power supply situation has greatly improved.
1985 Macao authorities signed a 25-year franchise contract with Macao Electric Power Co., Ltd. 1987 Macao authorities transferred shares of Macao Electric Power, with the authorities holding 7.7%, the Sino-French investment company and the Sino-Portuguese investment company holding 45% respectively, and local investors only accounting for 2.3%. After the reform, the Australian Power Company devoted itself to the development of local power, and determined the direction of developing low-speed diesel generator sets, mainly expanding the Luhuan Power Plant. 1987 and 1988, Luhuan Power Plant completed and put into operation two 24,000 kW low-speed diesel generator sets. 199 1 and 1992, Luhuan Power Plant completed and put into operation two 36,000 kw low-speed diesel generator sets. 1995 and 1996, two 50,000 kw units were completed and put into operation. At present, the total installed capacity of Luhuan Power Plant has reached 260,000 kilowatts, which is the main power plant of Australia Power.
