Follow the gravel path in the alley, pass under the eaves of Dacheng Hall of Confucius Temple, and then come to Wenxing Street 10, which is the former residence of Mr. Xiong Xiling, the first Prime Minister of the Republic of China.
When Mr. Xiong was a teenager, he was concerned about his country and people. At the age of 9, his private school teacher made a couplet: plant a few pots of flowers to explore the spring and autumn news; Mr. Xiong immediately made a couplet: chisel a pool of water to see the surplus and deficiency of heaven and earth. Sanwangmiao
Now we are in Wangsan Temple, also known as Tennoja and Sanhou Temple.
According to legend, in the Northern Song Dynasty, there were three brothers, named Yang Yinglong, Yang Yinghu and Yang Yingbao, who were superb in martial arts and made great contributions to defending the neutrality of the western border region of Hunan and Hubei, so they were sealed by the emperor and enshrined in a temple. In the third year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1798), Fenghuang Hall knew that Funai had built Wangsan Temple in order to implement his policy of suppressing and appeasing ethnic minorities. After the completion of Wangsan Temple, people often worship and pray here, and some poets often sing poems and paint here. In November of the third year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 19 1 1), Tian Yingquan, Tang Lichen and others, gentlemen of the Phoenix, held a conference here to respond to the Revolution of 1911 and swear allegiance to the uprising, and celebrated the victory of the Revolution of 1911 here.
The main hall of the Three Kings Temple is dedicated to the Three Kings. The back hall is dedicated to Nuo Niang, the ancestor of Miao family. According to legend, during the primitive flood, there was a big flood here, and only one brother and sister escaped. In order to breed Miao people, my brother proposed to marry his sister. My sister thought that brother and sister could not succeed, so they each threw a millstone from the mountain and asked heaven and earth to arbitrate. After the two-leaf millstone rolled down the mountain, a pair of them were combined by a strange tie, so brother and sister became relatives and the Miao family multiplied. Therefore, in Miaoshan, thousands of miles away, there is a two-part allegorical saying: Brother and sister visit the bride, and the earth will last forever. Of course, that's just a story that happened in a special era in the past. Tang Nuo Opera and Nuo Dance are still widely circulated here, and they also developed from the ritual of offering sacrifices to Nuo Palace and Nuo Mother.
Shencongzhi cemetery
A few more steps, I saw an inscription written by Mr. Huang Yongyu in memory of Uncle Long Congwen: A soldier will either die in battle or return to his hometown.
There is no raised mound in Mr. Shen's cemetery, only a five-color stone stands in it as it is; There are no carved jade ornaments here, only a stone road that grazes and splits firewood runs through it, symbolizing that Mr. Shen will rise together with ordinary people forever.
Half of Mr. Shen's ashes were fished out of the Tuojiang River in front of him and half were buried under this five-colored stone. He is like the Tuojiang River in front of him, which originated from the earth and returned to it. He is like this colorful stone that accompanies him, from the fork of the earth and back to the earth!

On the back of the tombstone, the inscription of Mr. Shen's wife and sister Ms. Zhang Yunhe is engraved:
Uncompromising, the words of the stars holding the moon; Kindness also allows that the child is a man.
These four sentences briefly summarize Mr. Shen's local life. The last word of each of these four sentences, taken together, is a portrayal of Mr. Shen's life: let people learn from the text!
