Roy

This is a feeling after listening to teacher Alai's lecture, and I will share it with you.

Teacher Roy stood next to the introducer, quietly waiting for the introducer to introduce him, then picked up the microphone and expounded his views.

Mr. Roy is a short man with a serious expression, but it's just an appearance. I remember that Mr. Chi Zijian wrote in his article "A World Like Loy's Flowers" that he had never seen a man who loved flowers like Loy. In Chi Zijian's works, we only see the other side of Teacher Alai, who is humorous, lovely and affectionate. And his cultural responsibility is even more admirable. I didn't know much about him before listening to this speech. I just watched the dust settle and looked for the right one, but his words and deeds, a little gesture, are conveying an upward force for good to everyone.

There are about twenty or thirty people sitting in the small lecture hall, all of whom come to see the notice of the literary lecture. Many of them are fans of Mr Alai. I call myself half a fan. Having lived in Tibet described by Alai, you will naturally know more about his writing. However, I haven't read many of his books and dare not draw a conclusion.

Loy started with the topic of the speech, and the topic of self-mockery was copied from others. An American writer wrote the short story "What am I talking about when I'm talking about love", while a great Japanese writer Haruki Murakami wrote "What am I talking about when I'm talking about running". Ah Lai said that he stole a new term, but its connotation was quite different.

He said, why write? Just as Mallory, the first person to challenge Mount Everest, was asked by reporters why he climbed it, he said: Because the mountain is there.

And why write, because literature is there. But teacher Alai's point of view is that he thinks that literary works written by writers should be discussed by others instead of boasting about their own works, which is boring. So it leads to the problem of reading concept in the consumption era.

Under the wave of consumption, many of our habits are entangled in business, such as reading habits, such as consumption habits, and even daily communication, which are considered to be needed to learn. Therefore, all kinds of cram schools and online courses are popular, so young people don't know how to choose. Teacher Alai is very clever. He did the opposite, saying that many logics in commercial times are wrong: this is an era of reading pictures, which is why drawing a book is so popular, but no one cares about the voluminous words. This phenomenon is actually the result of people's concept change. If we only look at pictures and don't look at words, what is the difference between us and animals? The most important sign that distinguishes human beings from animals is that they can read words. If we simply look at picture books and pictures, human intelligence will definitely be a retrogression, not progress. Commerce is depriving human beings of the ability to control words.

Some people think that mobile phones fragment our time and there is no condition to allow us to sit down and read what we want, especially literature. In particular, many learning websites set customers as people who have no learning ability, and use advanced marketing methods to win people who have no choice ability. My personal feeling is that people nowadays are not incapable of learning, but of choosing. If a person has no choice, he will undoubtedly consume a lot of resources, including his own energy and time. Many people attribute the reason for not reading to "fragmentation time", but this is not the reason. Why? Teacher Alai said that on his way to Xinjiang, he used the app to read the poems of Gao Shi and Cen Can, and now he is reading Du Fu's poems in his spare time. Many text reading apps include a large number of literary works, but some people are willing to spend time reading those online works with tens of millions of words instead of contacting literary works with only hundreds of thousands of words.

At the scene of teacher Alai's speech, I secretly sent a message in the circle: What do you think of a person who loves reading literary books? Many people commented at the back: "leisure". Most of them have at least a college degree, but this knowledge of literature makes me stunned. Teacher Alai joked that writers nowadays are not good. Why? An important task of a writer is to sell his own things, and the process of selling is the process of raising money for himself. It is a sad thing that "persuading people to do good deeds" is ignored.

He cited an example, saying that 10 years ago, a Japanese news report said: When China's booming economy approached Japan's economic strength, he vowed that China people had nothing to be afraid of. He may be strong economically, but he won't really become a country that can compete with us. What is the reason? Because he saw that the number of bookstores on the streets of China was decreasing, while the number of foot washing shops was increasing. A country only attaches importance to physical enjoyment and ignores spiritual enrichment. Many people may say that no matter what the Japanese say, China is really better than them now. Where is the strength? Strong in the destruction of the environment, strong in the omission of cultural relics protection, strong in not stopping to think about their own behavior, strong in focusing on quantity rather than quality production?

I am not a person who worships foreign things and flatters foreigners, but I hope that our citizens will gradually have their own thinking and choice, so that more people can truly identify with China people in culture, instead of China culture. Because China's culture has always been there, and it has always been respected by the world, and there is not much publicity, but China people are not. Our attitude towards culture, the control and dissemination of China culture, need our own citizens to send it out spontaneously, but this is not the case in reality. Foreigners generally know that China people are rich, that's all.

What functions does literature have? What kind of effect does it have on a person, a country and a society? This is a question that literary writers have been thinking about. However, commercial operation has played down this role. Instead, it is how much film and television value a book has, and it will get more attention and input. Too many people pay attention to the possibility of recovering investment after literary works are transformed into commodities, while ignoring the functions and functions of literature itself.

For individuals, literature is a kind of goodwill. Through his own words, the author creates a unique healthy emotion in literature and gets along with people. In addition, literature can cultivate a self-sufficient ability, reading makes people progress, and progress lies in taking literary works as a mirror and looking at themselves through the mirror, thus improving themselves.

For society, literature conveys a kind of values. A healthy society is by no means a state in which good people suffer forever and bad people succeed forever. Of course, such a society will not last long. It is absolutely wrong to let good people suffer. Literary works will play such a role. It helps you to understand social problems, find out the reasons and correct them step by step, so that society can develop healthily.

For a country, the influence and importance of culture can never be ignored, which is why we have been advocating the development of national soft power in recent years. Soft power is actually not just a small category of culture, but something in the biggest concept of culture, such as customs, such as historical and cultural accumulation, and even a thermos bottle at the foot of traditional families. Maybe it has decades of experience, and the imprint of years deposited there is what we often call "culture". Therefore, it can be understood that a truly literate country, its citizens are people-conscious, civic-minded, completely love the mountains, rivers, grass and trees here, and will not spit everywhere, make a scene in public, or smoke.

These seem to have jumped out of literature, but they are still in literature. When we are talking about literature, there are waves in our hearts.

Perhaps a person's thinking and choice ability can also be taught by literature.

Dear friends, read it together.
