"Three pits and two streams" is familiar to friends who like Wuyi rock tea. It is their luck to drink Wuyi rock tea with three pits and two streams. Sankeng Erxi refers to these five places, namely "Dakengkou", "Niulankeng", "Huiyuan Pit", "Liuxiangxi" (also known as Daoshuikeng) and "Wuyuan Creek", which is what we tea people call "core rock area".
Three pits and two streams are introduced in detail:
Dakengkou
Dakengkou is a deep and long canyon leading to Tianxinyan, which runs through the east and west and connects Tianxinyan and Chongyang River. Tea gardens are widely distributed on both sides of Kengxi, which is east-west and has plenty of sunshine. Narcissus is suitable for planting in low-lying places, and cinnamon is suitable for planting halfway up the mountain or on the mountain. Tea farms on both sides lie in the shade of trees and hills, absorbing the essence of heaven and earth.
Niulankeng
Cinnamon in Niulan pit is also talked about by tea people, who call it "beef". Because of the steep boulder peaks around Niulan Pit, abundant rain and fog, rotten rocks as soil and flowers as companions, the growing cinnamon is enchanting, refreshing, with obvious rock rhyme and lasting sweetness.
Here, the conditions of Chashan are very superior. The tea mountains are all on the cliffs halfway up the mountain. They are made of layers of stones, and they spare no effort to show the preciousness of these famous mountains. The water turtle is a famous representative here.
Huiyuankeng
Legend has it that a monk named Hui Yuan came to meditate near Tianxin Temple and established Hui Yuan Temple. The valley near Hui Yuan Temple was named Hui Yuan Pit. Because some scholars read half a word, they misread Hui Yuan Temple as "Wan Hui Temple", which has been in use ever since. The name Huiyuan Pit (Iron Lohan) is also respected by tea people.
Liu xiangjian
The streams, springs and streams in Wuyishan Scenic Area all flow from west to east, rushing to the gorge and meeting at Chongyang River. Only this mountain stream originates from the north valley of Sanyang Peak, flows to the northwest and flows back to the mountains. On both sides of the bank, pale cliffs stand tall, green vines hang down, and weeds are overgrown, but there are clumps of mountains, shipu and orchids in between. "Leaves floating deep streams, flying flowers running.
Wuyuanjian
It is a small stream that flows through the foothills of Matouyan Mountain, and its fragrance is overflowing. The stone path next to the stream leading to Matouyan is quiet and peaceful, which makes people realize the Tao and think of the source, so it is named Wuyuan River. The name of this three-character stream is engraved on the stone wall beside the stream. During the Qianlong period, Jiangxi tea merchants donated money to build the stone path. Touch this inscription with your hand, and the cinnabar strokes wander between your fingers, as if you can suddenly realize heaven and find the origin of Wuyi rock tea.
