Hejian School is a medical school represented by Wei Liu, a famous doctor in Hejian, Hebei Province during the Song and Jin Dynasties, with the core of academic thought of expounding the pathogenesis of fiery heat and treating diseases and syndromes of fever well. Guided by the theory of Neijing, Hejian School is good at treating fiery diseases, and advocates that all six qi can turn fire into fire and make good use of cold medicine, which is also called Cold School in later generations.
Hejian School was most influenced by Liu. He summarized the pathogenesis of 19, further expanded the pathogenesis of fever, deepened the understanding of symptoms and signs of fever, formed the academic thought system of "fiery theory", and put forward the treatment methods and principles of relieving exterior syndrome by pungent cold, clearing away heat, nourishing yin and suppressing yang, which not only opened up a new way to treat exogenous fever, but also guided the medical contention in later generations.
Development history:
1. the formation of Hejian school: it was popular to measure qi with prescription in song dynasty. However, in the north, Liu belongs to a dry place, and the yang is abundant, and most of the drugs tend to be warm and dry, which leads to the deficiency of yin and yang in warm patients or body use, with poor curative effect and various disadvantages. At the same time, under the influence of the thought of learning from the law, Liu not only explored the treatment methods, but also paid more attention to the development of pathogenesis theory. He deeply studied Neijing, put forward the theory of "fiery heat", and used cold medicine to suppress yang and expel fire, forming a school of his own.
2. The development and evolution of Hejian School: Hejian School spread to Mu Dahuang, Ma Zongsu, Jingshan Futu and others, and also to Ge Yong, Lu Hong, Zhang Congzheng and his disciples Ma Jiuchou, Changde and others. Among them, Luo Zhi was spread to Danxi School and tried to stand on his own feet, but it was actually the gradual development of Hejian School.
