Russian pilots are equipped with new guns.

According to the Russian website topwar.ru, the Russian Ministry of Defense will decide whether to put PP-2000 submachine gun into Russian pilots' NAZ (Wearable Emergency Reserve Kit) to replace the Kalashnikov AKS-74U short assault rifle equipped by Russian pilots after fully considering the weapon performance test results.

Previously, in 2022, the Russian army had distributed a batch of PP-2000 submachine guns to air force pilots as a test, and the response was very good.

As early as 20 19, it was reported by the media that the Russian army would choose PP-2000 to replace AKS-74U with 5.45X39mm caliber as a self-defense weapon for pilots after ejection. This short assault rifle is installed in the pilot's wearable emergency reserve bag, usually placed in the aircraft ejection seat, and can be configured according to the different needs of the pilot.

In addition to guns, ammunition and grenades, there are also daily necessities such as drinking water, compressed food, communication equipment and medicines.

During the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, NAZ, a Russian Su -25 fighter pilot who was shot down, carried an AKS-74U assault rifle and a makarov pistol.

PP-2000 is a 9mm caliber reverse-blowing submachine gun designed and produced by Russian KBP Instrument Design Bureau. When empty, it weighs 1.5kg. Its first public appearance was at the Interpolytech-2004 Defense Exhibition held in Moscow. As a small portable automatic weapon, it is often favored by riot police and special forces. In 2008, the gun was used as a standard submachine gun for Russian police together with Vityaz-SN(PP- 19 "Bison").

PP-2000 can not only fire 9× 19mm Baraberum pistol, but also Russian-made 9× 19mm7N2 1 and 7N3 1 armor-piercing bullets, which makes the gun have armor-piercing ability comparable to P90 produced by FN and MP7 produced by HK. The biggest feature of this gun is that it can use a 44-round magazine as a guest stock, and the shooter can quickly change magazines to continue fighting after the current magazine is exhausted. Of course, this gun can also be equipped with a small folding stock for the shooter to choose from.
