It is learned from Qingdao Sea Rice R&D Center that the sea rice team led by Mr. Yuan Longping, the father of China hybrid rice, has reached a cooperation agreement with the United Arab Emirates to carry out the fourth phase of experiment and industrialization promotion plan in Dubai. It is estimated that by 2020, the artificial oasis of sea rice will cover more than 65,438+00% of Dubai's land area.
According to the "Green Dubai" cooperation framework agreement reached by both parties, the first stage is variety experiment. By trying to plant rice varieties with different accumulated temperature zones, the suitable germplasm resources were explored, the growth law of rice in extreme desert environment and the application conditions of water and fertilizer were preliminarily mastered, and the core plant protection measures of rice in each growth period were explored.
The productive experiment in the second half of 20 18 is the second stage. At this stage, based on the "four-dimensional improvement method" technology, the best soil improvement process parameters and soil water and fertilizer circulation mode are determined to reduce the production cost of large-scale popularization.
The two sides plan to start the third phase in 2065,438+09-the "Sea Rice Experimental Farm" project with an area of 65,438+000 hectares. This stage will not only verify the large-scale experimental planting technology of sea rice, but also explore the use of scarce resources of evergreen artificial oases in desert areas, integrate the green ecological real estate format, introduce commercial investment including the "Belt and Road" industrial fund in China, and try to realize the commercial operation of the project.
In order to overcome these difficulties, the project team must adopt a desert saline-alkali land improvement technology called "four-dimensional improvement method" and develop a plant protection system different from conventional rice planting, so as to save fresh water resources, avoid secondary salinization, establish soil aggregate structure and intelligent water and fertilizer circulation, and turn the desert into an artificial oasis.
It is reported that the four-dimensional improvement method technology will also apply the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence and cloud platform technologies to help the local area establish an advanced smart agriculture system through the digital transformation of desert land and contribute to the development of digital agriculture in Dubai.
