What is the role of developing 3-ton cargo UAV in China?

It is reported that on June 26th, 10, the AT200, a large-scale cargo drone developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Langxing UAV Company and aviation industry 6 18, completed its first flight at Neifu Airport in Pucheng, Shaanxi Province, marking the birth of the world's first 3-ton cargo drone.

In the morning, after taxiing, taking off and climbing to a predetermined height, the plane entered the cruise section and circled for two weeks, then entered the landing route and landed smoothly. The whole flight lasted for 26 minutes, and the aircraft was in stable state, tracking accurately and meeting the design requirements.

AT200 UAV is equipped with advanced flight control system and command system, completely getting rid of the dependence on pilots. It can realize the "one-button autonomous take-off and landing" of the aircraft in the command center and control multiple drones at the same time. It is only necessary to monitor the state of the UAV, and if necessary, the flight state can be changed by simple operation of the UAV flight controller, which greatly reduces the freight cost and the difficulty of UAV operation.

According to reports, the aircraft has a total length of 1 1.84 meters, a wingspan of 12.80 meters, a height of 4.04 meters and a maximum takeoff weight of 3.4 tons. It can be described as the biggest guy in the field of civil unmanned aerial vehicles at home and abroad, with cargo hold volume 10 cubic meter and payload 1.5 tons. The cargo carrying capacity is second to none at home and abroad. The cruising speed is 3 13km, the cruising time is up to 8 hours, the range is 2 183km, and the service ceiling can reach 6,098m m. Even in the western and mountainous areas where land transportation is underdeveloped, point-to-point freight connection transportation can be completed efficiently. In addition, this type of drone has amazing take-off and landing capability in the same class of aircraft. When fully loaded, it can take off and land within 200 meters, and it can take off and land on unpaved simple runways or even slopes and grasslands, thus solving the problem of taking off and landing in hard-to-reach areas such as high altitude and mountainous areas.

Because of its powerful performance, this UAV can not only carry out military transportation tasks under the conditions of field airports, but also play an important role in the island material transportation guarantee, especially in the military material supply of the South Island Reef. At the same time, it also has broad application prospects in multi-island countries in Southeast Asia along the Belt and Road: the short-range take-off and landing capability solves the problem of large-tonnage drones taking off and landing on the island. For islands without landing conditions, the R&D team will increase the fixed-point delivery capability in the subsequent modification design, and the delivery accuracy can reach within a radius of 5 meters.

It's great for my country.
